  1. After hearing several stories of passengers using the windshield as an assist in entry or exit, I felt a couple of grab handles may solve that problem. So far it has worked. My cornering "G" meter is just a silly joke. Some people spend big bucks to observe how many "G"s they can pull in a corner. My "G" meter is for the entertainment of the passengers. And it IS lighter than the units that abuse electrons to function Jim
  2. Thanks guys, I got the idea for the headlights from Mazda. My headlights were about $60 for the pair. They are Hella Optilux 2020. I bought them from Tires-n-Parts. These lights are not DOT approved, but Florida has no inspection. Tail lites are from Closer to Wholesale on Ebay @ $60. There are 13 LEDs on each side. 3 on each side as parking lites, 5 for brakes and 5 for turn signals. Jim
  3. I got my Stalker licensed on Monday. Yea!!!! Still have some work to on the hood so it isn't painted yet. All Ali is anodized. 4. Al, sorry I forgot to reply. Jeffrey and I received kit. Thanks, Jim Dorsey
  5. As a retired unicycle rider, I think it's very innovative. However, it isn't the first powered uni. When light weight weed-eaters first appeared, some guys tried those little 2 stroke engines on their unicycles. After many busted a$$es, some of the guys were actually able to ride, altho never very well. When I was first learning, a fellow rider challenged me to a race. The guy was very smart in some areas like math and calculus but kind of slow in other areas. What we now call geeks. Anyway, as we started down a hill at our top speed of about 5 mph, this guy says "watch this, I'm going to coast". What followed was the worst unicycle crash I have ever seen. As soon as his feet left the pedals, his levi hip pockets started eroding away as he slid down the hill. Jimmydz, Naples Fl. First unicycle ride-1959, last-1995.
  6. Just returned from Batteries Plus. I bought a MJ680 for my Stalker last March. It sat until October when I finally fired it up for the first time. After a short jaunt around the neighborhood, the battery would be dead the next day. After jumping it and charging it for several months, I gave up. Today, Batteries Plus checked it out, said it was bad, and gave me a new one. No charge. According to the web site there is a 4 yr. warranty. Jimmydz Naples, Fl.
  7. Some tags proposed for my Super Stalker; 1 Gallon, ASA97, Got Torq, 0603PT5, 1PT6Gs, itldou. Kind of like itldou but may provoke too many attempts to prove it. Hope to have my car legal in about 2 weeks. Jim in Naples, Fl.
  8. My best moment was about 2 weeks ago. I drove my Stalker for the first time. Started the build in Oct. of last year. Not licensed, insured or titled yet, but a hell of a lot of fun. Jim
  9. Of course some nest eggs are larger than others, but that's not the point. Some people end up with an ostrich egg. Me- I get a hummingbird's !!!!! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1345333168_retirementbenefit.JPG
  10. Arya, the L32 (260HP) is a newer engine than the L67(240HP). The only difference visible to me is the fuel rails are different. I'm sure there are other differences also. Jimmydz
  11. Sorry. Won't do it again.
  12. I'd like to coin a phrase here for Billery. CHUB= Cold Hearted Ugly Bitch. Says it all.
  13. I know I'm late voting, but I like: T.otally I.n T.o S.evens. Jim
  14. My son and I met Folis and his wife at 7-7-7. Very nice people. We traded them rides in an Elise for a ride in his Birkin. He is quite the character. Jimmy Dz, building a Super Stalker in south Florida
  15. EburgE, You are quite welcome. Enjoy. Jim
  16. OK I try to be brief. Name is Jim Dorsey. After a visit to SEA with my uncle Sam I made some motors to help some guys when they went to the moon then ran a rocket for the Star Wars program for USAF. While working for my Uncle I learned to fly then started teaching flying then aerobatics. Then for 19 years I flew airshows. Old age caught me so I worked at a nursery for the last 12 years. Just retired. My 27 yo son Jeff bought an Elise and while scanning the Elise Talk site saw a mention of 7-7-7. We had just returned from ToTD (Had to go get a Jack-in-the-Box). I signed up for the event and we met a lot of really nice people. Just placed an order for a Super Stalker for 10-14 delivery (my 62nd BD present to myself). My son and I hope to assemble it over the winter and cruise together next summer. Just today I picked up my S/C engine. I can't wait!!! Really enjoy this site. Thanks AL and Mazda. Jim
  17. Will take to the P.O. tomorrow. Jim

  20. While trying to organise my garage today I found an HO trainset brought to Fl. about 20 years ago. As my 2 are now grown and I want to play with a Seven... If any one on this board has small children or their neighbors have or friends etc, etc, i am willing to donate this trainset to the cause. (cause I need the room). It is actually two sets of everything. I really enjoy this board alot. My son and I had a great time at 7-7-7 and appreciate you allowing us to crash your party with an Elise. If anyone is interested in the train please e-mail me @ otwpalm@aol.com. Thanks, Jim Dorsey Naples,Fl.
  21. Kar120C, I have an Al ? for you. Also having an aviation background, I'm more familiar with 2024 than 5052. Seeing alot of posts about the hassles of polishing Sevens, I'm curious why not use 2024 Alclad. Much easier to polish. Jim
  22. Hello. Newbie to the 7's scene. Have been a fan of Lotus for 40+ years. Having just retired, I'm planning on building a Stalker. My son, Jeffrey, and I were the ones in the blue 05 Lotus Elise at 7-7-7. Had a great time and met many really nice people. We really appreciated being allowed to join-in all the festivities even though we weren't in a 7. Here are some pictures my son took. Enjoy. And again, thanks to one and all.
