Thank you. Finally a response from a knowledgeable individual with experience with both engines. in your opinion What would be the least expensive mod to the Sigma to give it a little more umph?

I would like an opinion from anybody that has driven a Seven with both of these motors. Is there a discernible difference in available power between these two engines?

I have actually seen all those true Caterhams. Made an offer on one of them. The engine on that car has been highly modified for more HP. And it has a 6 speed. Prefer the 5 speed.

Looking for Seven with either Zetec or Duratec motor, 5 speed, prefer DeDion rear. I’m in Georgia, USA but willing to travel for the right car. ready to buy

i agree. The hunt is half the fun. I’ve made two offers. And I’m in no way trying to steal a car. One was a car with many more engine mods than I want or need. And as far away as geographically possible. So I had to factor in transportation The other car was over priced to start with. I made what I feel was an above market offer. But that seller really doesn’t want to sell. Hard to buy anything from a person that doesn’t want to sell. I don’t fault that seller at all. Neither car is exactly what I would like. And having owned a Caterham in the past I know what I want. So the hunt continues. I’m on a mission.

Mike, live gotten comfortable using BaT past sales data. The sales prices I see and what you suggest as ranges all seem reasonable. Now to find my car. On a mission.

Hello Bill, I have seen that car. I owned a Caterham, not a Birkin, and for whatever reason would like to stick with a Caterham. I know absolutely nothing about Birkins.
