  1. i use ralley insurance through safeco. cost is $424 a year with $45,000 agreed value. im limited to 5,000 miles a year and somewhat limited to when i can drive the car (weekends, shows, events). dont dare say anything about going to a race track or they will put you up on a cross. i think my rate is good considering im 25 years old
  2. thanks for the advice guys. i looked into the mazdaspeed mani/turbo but for the price $1200 from flyin miata i think i can do much better for a little bit more $. if you look at pic 6 + 7 you will notice a support beam right on the exhaust manifold. the worry is that while the turbo hangs low it will still be right up against that part of the car. i dont want to risk that much heat or have to deal with a an install in such a small space. i picked up a good used gt28r for $300, getting a custom stainless manifold made for $500-700 est, and have all the flanges i need for an additional $80. the turbo will handle more then then the mazdaspeed setup and i have the benefit of moving the to a much better location for cooling, ic piping and ease of install and removal
  3. truth be told ive wanted to redo my exhaust since i purchased the car. this way i roll a part of the cost into some upgrades.
  4. the motor is a 2001 miata vvt motor and the ecu is hydra 2.5
  5. so far the plan is as follows. ~gt28r turbo ~intercooler from kevins car (thanks!) http://usa7s.com/vb/picture.php?albumid=6&pictureid=29 ~turbo header made from stainless steel ~nascar style oval exhaust pipe to slip by the trans and frame ~possibly 2 vibrant resonators to take care of any high/low notes left in the system. power potential ~160-185 rwh with stock miata clutch ~200 rwh with upgraded clutch ~230-250 rwh with upgraded 550 injectors ~300+ rwh w/ pistons, rods, headwork ~XXX rwh bigger turbo and the above. right now im just looking for low boost to make sure all things will run smooth. im not planning on using the turbo much on the track but i would like some boost for the open road.

  7. here is what im working with http://usa7s.com/vb/picture.php?albumid=6&pictureid=31 http://usa7s.com/vb/picture.php?albumid=6&pictureid=32 http://usa7s.com/vb/picture.php?albumid=6&pictureid=30 http://usa7s.com/vb/picture.php?albumid=6&pictureid=23 my solution? TURBO.
  8. hello all, im going through some changes with my 7 and i thought id make a build thread (with some coaxing from kevin). http://usa7s.com/vb/picture.php?albumid=6&pictureid=22 this situation has come from my desire to quiet the exhaust and get myself some more power on the street. the major problem is that my current exhaust runs down the center of the car and in certain areas has been crushed in order fit around the frame and by trans. the only thing quieting down this system is a set of glass packs that are... subpar.

  20. the black wheels on the car are currently 19 and flat black which i really like. id like to drop down to a 18 so that would mean a bit more rubber for street driving. also the red stripe is growing on me. ive been thinking of chnaging the interior around a bit by removing the carpet and puting in black vynal with red stich etc.
  21. thinking of these for my ultralite 18x8 and 18x9 http://raderwerks.com/vortextmplate/mten80_mk4.jpg http://www.tmtuning.com/HOME/medienarchiv/bilder/5284_kt10_new.jpg
  22. day pic http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/8224/cimg2625resize.jpg
  23. a little more meat on the rear wheel would be nice though.. maybe 245 or 255. i know i can get the wheel in a 19x9 will need the extra meat when the turbo is finished getting installed.
  24. here is my daily, with the wheels http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/6550/0022resizelv0.jpg
  25. so after finishing an axel job on my wagon i thought it would be a great idea to try her wheels on the 7... after having them for about a year i dont know why i did not think of this sooner! 19x8 et 30 keskin kt9 3mm spacer front, no spacer on rear (studs not long enough). i think this may be the only set in the usa... never seen these in black or the kt9 in person wheels are much smaller in person. the fronts fit the fenders as perfect as i could ever imagine. the rears i would get in a diff lower offest (et 37 or 39) or get longer studs and run a small spacer. did about 50 miles today with this setup, ride the same as my 17's with bigger tire. i think this is in part to ARS suspension. yea i know my pics are crappy... mondo, if i ever come out west im lookin u up for some lessons. http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/647/cimg2622resize.jpg http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7601/cimg2620resize.jpg http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/8849/cimg2618resize.jpg
