  1. What about Bob?
  2. From what i am understanding, right now they are going to have several connected events over the 3 days. An island tour using the old race route. A island ralley, and they will be using the airport for an Autocross/gymkhana. and then various dinners and island fun. I saw some more event footage and pictures from last year and there seems to have been about 2 dozen cars including a lotus 11, various triumphs, a 911, a wierd 911 with a wierd front end, a 65(?) corvette, a big healey 3000, some odd alfa romeo coupe, various mga's TC's TD's, a bullet fendered TC.
  3. my 1600 can keep up with a lamborghini.... tractor.
  4. "Looked" at the Braile? isnt that for the blind?
  5. Ouch..... sure you were not chasing james bond or something?
  6. This all great info, thanks everyone! Sadly we do have a tight budget to work with. We are not too worried about tire wear. Yes we want a tire that will compliment the car and it's handling and not embarass it, but we wont be taking it to the track often.
  7. We are needing some spot lights for our new stepvan, and in the past have used a couple cheap-o fog lamps that we bought for like $15...they worked reasonably well for the use. They were used to simply light up the rear area for loading-unloading the trailer etc and need to light up about a 20' X 12 ' area.... looking at e-bay at more cheap-o foglights, i see they now have a whole selection of the LED foglights.. 6 led, 12 led, 28 led...etc.. are theese even worth the 10$ ? We dont need a hella flamethrower set..this is just for utility, but if they are worthless i dont want to get them either. thoughts?
  8. I contacted the event hosts, and they said they would welcome the Birkin into the event. I am not sure what that means yet since the pictures i saw from last year looks like a M.G. reunion.. But perhaps we can add a little color to the BRG! It sounds like they are trying to get this to be a full race at the Airport for next year, but depends on how well recieved the trials are this year.. if we play nice we could have something great here!
  9. Hmmmm... So it looks like the Toyo's are well represented here. Ra's a little stickier dry and slippery wet than the R1r's eh? i am liking the RA's. anyone have experience with the bridgestone potenza re-11's? just curious..
  10. http://www.pibroadrace.com/index.php/ This should be an awesome fun event!!
  11. The Toyo ra1's seem to be a good price. they are deffinitly in the running.. they seem to be more aggresive than the t1-r?
  12. i just looked at the price of the Avon's. thats a bit much for our budget..
  13. Thanks everyone, we will look into these, and the associated prices.
  14. Just curious,,,with spring on the way, we might actually brreak down and buy some tires this year. Whats the latest and greatest 15" for a mostly dr,y occasionally wet, street friendly tire that will serve us best for blating around? We Plan on going to the Gap this summer...and want to enjoy it instead of feeling like a putz on the old rubber. We also know it's gonna rain along the way. Robert
  15. Birkin owners.. Does anyone know what brake light pressure switch is used on our cars? Last night we bled the brakes as thoughtful maintenance before our tour tomorrow, and as a result the brake lights stopped working! Fuses are ok, so we suspect the pressure switch failed. (This was not an unusual failure on all our old brit cars..) help?
  16. We can call you as we get close. Gary, we thought you had an awesome top custom made for the new rollbar? The event is not a "ralley" that needs a navigator, it's a tour that a navigator would simply be helpful to follow along the route instructions, but is essentially a "follow the leader" We put our windshield on and will have our top ready to put up in case of inclimate weather. positive thoughts: it will be a dry day.
  17. Glenn...sent private message.
  18. We use a set of 4 uni-filters..work great and are a bit flexible for the fit in the cutout.
  19. Gary yes...you should see us comming down 77, right now we have 2-7's, an esprit, an elise, and a 911 porsche.. might have a couple others as well, we wont know until that morning. We will stop at our jumping off point further down 77 and we can give you a directions packet. hope you have a navagator? Due to the recent incident up in cleveland we will keeping things at a spirited but reasonable pace. We dont want any police roadblocks on this "tour"...
  20. Of all the sportscars I have owned over the years... We use the 7 more than any of them.. So far we put about 5k on it per year. We really do use it for so much!...gotta get it out auto-xing one day soon...
  21. hey bob, we got the starter fixed..if you want to come over for a ride perhaps?
  22. We took the advice of my local race car guru (Craig Chima) and got the starter rebuilt. American electric in downtown Akron, rebuilt it for 70$ in 2 days. Quick and thrifty Works great, problem solved. I was told that the starter (even though not very old) was very light duty and simply worn out..the rebuilder replaced the internals with a bit more heavy duty wiring and Pieces.. Oh i had looked into getting a stock pinto starter but it wasnt the same configuration.
  23. GREAT!! thanks Gary... all i have to do is get this starter problem solved. We will take another car if it comes to it.
  24. does anyone have experience with the tilton starters on this engine? I believe I have the 110 ring gear the starter I have has 3 bolt pattern with a 10 tooth pinion, the tilton starters for the same engine seem to have 9 tooth pinnion?
  25. Hi Bob, this is Bob.. Sorry i caught this late..i AM in Akron. Copley actually, give me a call if you wish. 714-3740. i cant give you a ride however till i get this starter problem fixed..
