  1. We have the harbor freight one.. yeah i wish it had a diffrent cylinder size..a few more pumps wouldnt hurt me for more control. yet it has held up rather nicely even jacking up the breadtruck.
  2. I had planned on putting some kind of foam gasketing sandwiched between. i wasnt going to drill the mounting holes till i did that to make sure i had a good fit as well. But yes thanks for the advice! Mike..just a quick question, have you noticed a diffrence (besides it just looks awesome) in the fact you dont have that big slab of glass there anymore? no need to explain the occasional rocks and bugs.. wondering more about if the car seems to punch through the air the slightest bit better? feel anything diffrent?
  3. Mike...you have access to a roller i can use? AWESOME!! That would be great, that was my next stumbling block. I am getting the single piece of Aluminum this weekend and should have it cut out in a few days afterwards. Actually, making the windsheilds should be easy compared to this main cowl piece. Thanks Mike!!
  4. Well my first attempt at the brooklands style didnt go so well. the cowl piece looked awesome till i tried to bend it.. i had welded it up instead of using a single piece of sheet to cut out. good try,,but it failed. i need a laser cutter and a slip roller to handle the thickness.. cant get a nice radius with my hands and a pipe..the welds failed which i could have expected but,,,the winter has just begun, i dont give up so easily..
  5. yeah,,,but would these girls ride in a se7en in november in Ohio??? NOT!! i am lucky mary loves it! The se7en is windsheild -less this week, we are starting the fabrication of our own "brooklands" style screen assembly. cant afford to buy the real thing, lets see what we can make ourselves?
  6. We know Craig, and his shop and cars.. in a word, awesome! I have seen this car as well, and while i havnt driven it. it is everything he claims. the car is probably very much worth what he's asking. ((Craig, i am still trying to get the body parts started for the ginetta from the guy in Tenn....))
  7. Took out the se7en yesterday for a crisp fall day run. Very few leaves left on the trees now and the smell of them burning in the country twisties. Took a freind out for a ride in it (she owns a souped up trans am she brags about) and she got out telling me she thought she wet her pants..LMAO gee... and i couldnt even push her hard with those cold bakelite tires. So the se7en got a new convert, she said she loved it! Winter projects starting soon, a bitter sweet season in ohio to own a se7en.
  8. Geoff, heres your chance!! (dad)
  9. Geoff.. the truck might not fit in the parking lot... you'll need a "7"... =)
  10. Hey Geoff, Nice to see you on here. Our son shares our passion for motorsports and sailing.
  11. YEEE FRiggin-HA!!! oh ya gotta love this! but how long would the tires last scrubbing off that way... impressive all the same against some big german machinery
  12. thats all for the duratec? i figured it would be better than the zetec..
  13. uhhh uhhhh...uhhh...i might actually pay for this service.
  14. Happy Halloween and Blessed Samhain..
  15. My goodness!! how fun is that!?!?! and what views of the sea..!! phenominal!...
  16. My biggest project, is finding money to do my projects.. but with what i have left.. i am going to fabricate up a brooklands style windscreen setup. replace the 3rd barke light i installed...that went out. and tuck it in for a long winters nap. as a sidenote..with any luck, i might be restarting on my ginetta G4 project. someone here in the states has come forth with the ability to make me a center body shell i needed.. i hope it's all true.
  17. Thanks for staying on top of things for us all!
  18. Sad to hear your selling it.. this is a wonderful Birkin.
  19. i couldnt imagine this here in the states.. But the concept is awesome...and why not? People deserve to see their vehicles being constructed! i wish i would have seen the damn wiring put into my Birkin 7.... UGH..
  20. My se7en came with a set of falkens on them.. i think they are made of teflon not rubber. tires will probably be my next big money item to spend on the car.
  21. We ran a big healey 100-6 in vintage for about 5 years... it was a PIG. like an old overweight pickup truck with bald tires on ice. The bugeye sprite was MUCH better car, and actually faster around the same tracks. loved the sprite.. the miracle of the se7en... it handles just as well as it is, as the bugeye ever did in full race trim, but without sacrificing being streetable. The ginetta is still waiting, but i am finally getting some prices on the bodywork tub it needs.
  22. and a few more?
  23. And thank you for all those that attended.. if it wasnt for you,,,it would just be us having all the fun! it's the participants that make the event what it is! how about a few pictures for you...
  24. be careful.. back when i was racing my 1275cc sprite...some people would blank of the heater inlet/outlets, and cook the head!! when someone would blank them off they would develop a steam pocket and that part of the head wasnt getting properly cooled. i would always run a line that fed back into the cooling system. that way i was getting good circulation through the inlet outlet ports and it aided cooling.
  25. Gary that would be great! Please invite the fellow with the wine color europa? (i apologize i forgot his name) as a note we will be meeting at around 10:00, but not leaving till afterwards probably about 10:30, so theres no rush. So that makes mike/ jen in thier caterham, Glenntwincam from here on the list, the lotus dealership is bringing an elise, a new lotus club member in his exige (steve i think), Kurt von, (i think he has/had a europa), paul/michelle (not sure the vehicle yet) and their friend, and hopefully others from the local lotus club. I have encouraged mike/jen to hook up the roll bar video camera, and Trina will be taking pictures along the route. The weather looks clear with temps reaching the 70's.
