  1. After a few attempts I was able to fabricate my own cable. Figured I should share the wiring schematic here because it was difficult to find online. I used a bestbuy insignia usb 2.0 to RS-232 serial adapter (with prolific chipset) because my laptop did not have a dedicated serial port and got some 1/4 stereo headphone plugs from guitar center. serial port pin 2 - receive data (RXD) pin 3 - transmit data (TXD) pin 5 - ground (GND) 1/4 headphone plug tip (far end) - receive data (RXD) collar (middle) - transmit data (TXD) base (close end) - ground (GND)
  2. Does anyone in the LA area have a pectel t2 programming cable I could use? Happy to drive to you. I have a 1999 caterham with a 2.0L zetec engine with a pestle t2 ECU and need to calibrate the car for a new TPS sensor. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
  3. Does your car have the LED tail light kit? I have a much older car than yours but I recently retrofit the caterham LED taillight kit and ended up with a very similar problem. I came to realize it takes very little current to get the rear blinkers to turn on. My car was previously wired to share a single dash indicator light for the turn signal, which was acting as a “short” between the two light circuits because the current was so low. I would be curious if disconnecting the wires that lead to the speedometer turn signal indicator solve your problem? And if that does fix it, adding a couple diodes would allow you to reconnect it.
  4. Perhaps the bolt was yielded at some point, either because of over tightening or some sort of shock load. It might be worth replacing the fasteners with new ones. A yielded bolt will probably just keep stretching, a good bolt will “spring” back to its regular length after the torque is removed. Just make sure you use the correct grade of fastener (8.8 vs 10.9) from a reputable source. Unfortunately I don’t know which grade was used originally.
  5. I’m located just north of Boston and have a caterham s3. If you’re finding the stalker and dare to be a bit small you may want to find someone with a caterham SV though. In any case I’m away this weekend but will be around the following weekend if you still wanted to check it out (Feb 5-6).
  6. I just discovered my Caterham triple pass radiator is leaking where the core mates to the tank. Does anyone have a used radiator they are looking to sell? I am in souther California currently but will be driving through Nevada and Texas in the next fees days. my car is Zetec powered variant built in 1999. Thanks, -Nick
