Considering a Caterham or Knockoff for Track Duty

Trailer the car, you don't want to burn up your track tires on the street and you don't have room to carry them and its not relaxing to drive a 7 on the highway. I haven't tried an M3 but would like to for comparison. a 7 is a four wheel motorcycle with the pluses and minuses, I've done both. SB100 was not hard in Ca. where are you located? I'm running a turbo Miata in a Kitcar, very easy on tires, Miata parts are cheap the engine was built for durability with 300 hp. -
Mine are different than yours. I will send over some pictures and measurements. Do post your pictures, where did that radiator come from ? never seen a curved one. We should have a CMC registry somewhere of all the versions.

I will be upgrading my CMC arms. Send me a picture of what yours look like to compare. I wasn't planning to do it right away but could be convinced. My car was one of the first and I understand they don't all look the same. It was the Grassroots magazine build. Ingmar

What happened to me this past weekend again - ongoing for 2 many track days. The keyed ignition switch had a dead spot which showed up only at certain times on the track, it momentarily turned off the ignition then back on. This switch was replaced last year just in case that was happening. Just a gentle nudge on key turned off car. Duct tape solution for that day, Where you running next? we should meet up. I need to build a quiet muffler for Seca, I have been running Buttonwillow and Streets.

Project weeks on the car. Just redid the front air splitter to give more downforce and move the air over the lower A arm. I found an APR carbon fibre wing locally that was used and very well priced. I plan to mount it vertically ahead of the back roll bar at the spreader vertical to give downforce not only over the rear wheels. I've got the pipe to go vertical and then put a plate on top to use the wings existing mounting plate. The plan to attach to roll cage is to use flat plate on either side of new pipe and weld and bolt to rollcage.

If the weather is not predicted rain I'm going to Speed Ventures at Buttonwillow on the 27th and then Feb. 16-17 with Alfa Romeo Racing school at Streets of Willow. Had a great time with Aaron at VARA school this past weekend, we both solved some problems on our cars. At Buttonwillow an Atom is signed up so that will be fun to see. Let me know if anyone else can make it.

Buttonwillow Trackday - 11.18.2012 on Vimeo Aaron is in the orange car with the R-1 engine, my yellow has the miata turbo, both CMC chassis. We got to do follow the leader for a bit on track. Great to share time, we had never met prior to this day. My son Garrett did the filming and editing.

I plan on going, waiting on weather report before commiting, Locost with R-1 is signed up already. Buttonwillow is a great track with lots of runoff for those "moments"

Very nicely done. I thought maybe it was aluminum first off. The straps really make it work. Nice bottom pan also. It would be great to have some storage on the car. I also don't carry spare but I only do day trips . Your windshield appears to be curved? and What size tires are you using, those look large in photo? -
