  1. Maybe I'm a crap driver but mine does that when turning or if i hit a bump
  2. I personally would love to just own one...i just don't want it to occupy the garage floor space when I use it once every 3 years lol
  3. It's certainly less anxiety if you own. You never know with a project how long you need or if something might go wrong. You could end up spending $300-$400 on a rental if something goes wrong.
  4. @williamwashere Yeah Sunbelt rentals. They have a very transport friendly one that fully disassembled into straight rods and beams pretty much. It fit in my wife's SUV. It's the one pictured on their site. They may however try to give you one that's not disassemble-able like they did with me. Just call and make sure the location you're going to has that one (if you need it to be disassembled). If you have a truck then it's not a problem. IIRC it was like $150 for the week. Quite affordable. What wasn't feasible was when I had to pull the engine and have it out for an indeterminate amount of time while I diagnosed my issue. Was also too lazy to rent it, and take it back and rent it again.
  5. I had a 2 ton for my initial install that made it cake. I had a 1.5 ton when I had to pull the engine to crack open the transmission bell housing... Barely made clearance. It's the length of the arm and the height of the lift that was the issue. 2 ton is the clear choice here for no hiccups
  6. Assuming you're running LEDs, I think there's more than enough voltage to run them in series...though double check random idiot on forum talking. If you're planning on running both the pod and the LED blinker, then I would assume that's the most straightforward way to do it. A reason not to do it now is that it's some small amount of extra work and if you're (possibly) not gonna need it, then don't do it now. Though, for what it's worth, I grounded my pod blinker in the headlight bowl, so you're gonna be running a wire into there already anyway. I suppose it can save you some re-tidying up wires if you're anal about that kind of stuff though, but just achieving illumination in both lights would not be an extraordinary amount of work, if I recall my own installation properly.
  7. I quite like the symmetry, especially with the stripes... It does remind me of a Hobbit door:
  8. I'm a bit of a (relatively) plain jane with my Detonator Yellow + 2 Stripes but I think that's the way to go. I did really like the 3 stripe but the nose badge made the middle stripe look too thick. I like how the 2 stripe curves around it. Sans nose badge I would have gone 3 stripe. I absolutely love the triple side stripes of the Encore. Would love to get that some time in the future
  9. @Vovchandr in your pics, the windshield definitely needs some headlights up front. The aero without the headlights could go either way for me TBH. Looks pretty slick without, but it already looked good even with the lights.
  10. Hah can't blame her. My wife gives my Caterham the side eye even though it's parked in the other garage lol. The Encore is a very nice looking car. Love the stripes and the centered gas cap.
  11. Interesting... I may be mistaken, but in discussing with @empti who has the normal 420 nosecone, the mount points/hardware for the 420 and 620 were slightly different. Which nosecones do you have? Are they 3 different styles?
  12. For me the biggest deal here is "620 nosecone" as standard!!! WHAT! That's fantastic.
  13. Rich Kamp was my dealer and I've had a fantastic experience with him and his knowledge. When I read the article this stunned me as well! I'm glad that they set the record straight at least.
  14. @Vovchandr is right. I also like the layout of the 5.75" headlight and the pod, from the front. The length of the pod and the side profile of it, I could take it or leave it. I agree 7" are a little too large and the high mount look quite awkward. The microlight is kinda interesting and it kinda "deletes" a light on the Caterham, making it look a little more streamlined.... but I personally would not run it.
  15. I haven't looked in a while so I could be totally forgetting important details, but my setup, I think it's as simple as disconnecting the wire from the pod light, removing the pods and then feeding that wire into my bowl and connecting it to the correct (currently un-connected) terminal on the LED. My OCD that's preventing me from doing it is, I'd want to disconnect the connector from the harness, pull it out, re-bundle the turn signal wire with it and re-thread that through the suspension arms (which was a pain in the ass).
