I guess that maintenance would then get a problem. Having to remove/replace a panel would then get a bigger challenge. Heating the bonding would probably help since most of the bonding glue I've seen are rated to 300F or so. If has is pros and cons I guess. One thing is sure, having NOT to drill the frame for the rivets would probably be a good thing. Help keeping structural integrity while also give more rigidity. I'll see when I'm there I guess. Almost every seven where drilled and riveted anyway.

Nice paper, really liked it thanks. One thing that could be interesting in my build is using epoxy bonding for the side panel instead of regular rivets. There is a 60% increase in frame rigidity compared to rivetted panels. Well according to them. Page 29 Seams like a cheap and easy way to add even more stiffness to the chassis. Anyone got more info on what kind of epoxy one could use to achieve similar results?

I know that my turbo miata acts very violently to used/cracked sparkplugs. Not to the point of dying but still. Slight throttle and you'd feel as if in a roller coaster ride. Don`t know much about your engine, but I'd start with the basics and things that don`t cost much to swap/change. sparkplugs, plug wires and such. And if that wasn't it, you'll have a spare to use in a year or so as regular maintenance. Just my 0.02$ cnd

The main rule about "kit car" "replica car" or any kind of car that isn't made by a big car company is this: - No rolling chassis can be imported into canada. So from there, you can always figured out how to have it dissasembled and they shipped to canada from different source. ie: Engine shipped from Mr White; Tranny, Diff from Mr Blue; Frame and everything else from Mr Brown; From there you rebuild it at your home and have it plated as a self made car. It's a grey area for sure, but I heard it works. One thing to be sure is to have receipt for all the major parts. Since they ask for bill of sale of each major part at the inspection part. (check for stolen goods) Don't know if that helps, but still... too much an hassle I think. Another way would be to buy an original Lotus seven that is more than 15 years old.

don't want to go further... Still have to talk to paul to come to a deal. But let's just say that converting currency twice on that kind of amount ain't cheap change... I really don't want to bad mouth Deman on all of this... I want to give them a chance to make this right. As stated, small company like this with the small market share seven have.. wouldn't be good.

Ended up getting "most" of my money, now I just need to figure out what to do from here. Should I build my own SR27 or go with something else. But damn the SR20DET engine is a sweet one.

We had a meeting and time, money was even transfered and my truck was rented. Only thing left was picking it up. bummer indeed, but being them I would have kept it too!

Well, I won`t be the next owner of that Orange SR27. Dino and Paul canceled the sale at the last minutes. They are keeping the car it seams. Maybe I'll end up building my own seven!

Test driving another Deman in Montréal this afternoon. That should give me the bite to go ahead and treat myself to that nice car! As long as insurance and registration ain't too much of a hassle!

Also wondering how many Deman were alive and running. I know of a couple BEC SR7. But as for SR27 there is that orange one and the Blue one here in Montreal. Sweet car for sure. Would love to buy that car, but want to build it too... Hard decision! Anyway, the guys at DM were great to answer my question about their kit and all. I'll probably soon order one. hope this one gets a good owner and get ran on the track plenty!
