  1. Looks great! Curious what the major benefits are. Guessing primarily wind?
  2. I love this question! I've been asked/yelled at, on the highway, at speed, if my car (with plates, inspection and registration) is road legal
  3. Took a 6'4" friend with me (I'm 5'11") when I first test drove an S3 in Colorado. He was fine - with a passenger - as long as he took his shoes off. Conclusion: NOT height discriminatory. FOOT discriminatory!
  4. I’d love to see more over and understeer at the highest level of racing. And for those of us that appreciate the technology, just give everyone a fan car (so same aero advantage regardless of speed) and twin chassis (to decouple mechanical grip from downforce). Think Brabham BT46B + Lotus Type 88. Current tech could be much more exciting.
  5. I’ll be interested to hear more. Looks appropriately bonkers (and theoretically a whole different animal than a 7). I need a reason not to impulsively buy a Fiat X1/9 just to have a mid-engined car
  6. Beautiful WCM! (Is that your Goblin? If so, how does it drive? Mostly interested in mid-engine driving dynamics in such a stripped car)
  7. Sounds like a blast! I hope it gets built. I completely agree in regards to aero for the most fun. I'm surprised at how the article suggests downforce barely affects lap times.
  8. Before I bought a donor I was looking at Tennessee JDM Motors for Mazda parts. NOT new. https://tennesseejdmmotors.com/product/01-05-mazda-miata-1-8l-engine-6-speed-manual-transmission-jdm-mazda-bp-motor/ And for Honda engines: https://4pistonracing.com/collections/complete-engines/honda-k-series
  9. Two of them in Wisconsin. Another in Northern Illinois. Harley-Davidson's backyard
  10. The proposed bill does not look scary: https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/3385/text I predict massive backlash if the goal is to remove autocycles from the road. The Bill changes the definition of the word "motorcycle." Nothing else. Nothing to insinuate a ban. I was excited about Elio Motors and I'm a current investor in Aptera so know that I am excited to get my 3-wheeled vehicle. I'm not opposed to differentiating "motorcycle" from "autocycle." I can see a need to differentiate a straddled cycle with handlebars vs a seated position with steering wheel I think Morgan only made around 10,000 3-wheelers in 100 years. So yes, a very small percentage. But it's growing : https://www.gminsights.com/industry-analysis/slingshot-three-wheeled-motorcycle-market
  11. @Jenks We are the same height and weight and have similar driving preferences. I test drove S3 & SV Caterhams, MKs, made contact with Birkin & GBS successfully and Westfield & Stalker unsuccessfully. I was in your situation exactly 2 years ago. I spec'd a 360 and 420 and had similar questions regarding dry sump. I went with MK and am extremely happy because it was half the price of Caterham and James @MKSportscarsUSA could not have been easier to deal with. MK has independent rear and inboard front suspension and enough (but no too many) engine options. I'd be up for a call if you'd rather go over things verbally.
  12. I have the same ones: https://www.mksportscars.com/products/mk-indy-windscreen-wind-deflector-kit-pair?pr_prod_strat=e5_desc&pr_rec_id=5e228c550&pr_rec_pid=8573224812812&pr_ref_pid=8573225173260&pr_seq=uniform They are very effective
  13. North Shore Long Island this morning
  14. @cbuff The ride was a blast! Thanks! There is conflicting information the way I'm reading things. 2025 regs are expired and I also saw that 4-point harnesses seem to be allowed. I'm looking for the most current information that doesn't require a law degree. I'd also be more than happy to hit the track before the October meet to get myself past the green grouping.
  15. It will be my first time on the track as well. My Seven has 4-point harnesses. Assume I know nothing and please recommend (or send me to a site that spells it out for a novice like me) what needs to be done in order for my vehicle to fully comply for a track day
  16. Photos of MK in Manhattan and White Plains
  17. I took delivery of this car the first week of September and even with a busy work schedule was able to put over 1,300 miles on her. James Shaw of MK USA in Louisiana built her and I couldn’t be happier! He’s a great guy and put together a fun machine. Figured it was time to share some photos
  18. I wanted to say thank you for making me and my son feel welcome. Everyone generously shared their knowledge, experience and (in several instances) their cars. I am grateful and looking forward to joining you on the track next year. An invaluable experience. [Sharing photos that Matthew took of Desmond and Charlie at the finish line]
