  1. Blue Ridge Parkway today. Just right. Got chilly over 4000 ft.
  2. Modeling the bare minimum for a proper harness.
  3. For those dollars almost want to get one just to see how good it might be. Could put up four or five.
  4. The little changes add up. Been most of a year now since this little beast came to our garage. In this picture changed the steering wheel, harness, all mirrors, 12V adapter, fuel gauge mod, striping, phone holder, half hood. But today added this emblem to the steering wheel. An Ebay nosecone emblem, probably a knock off. The 7 is flat while the one on the nose is 3D. Still looks good, ain’t no Bentley. Flat black paint on the MOMO and it’s an improvement. Now to figure how to sew a red stitch like in the Honda Si in the background 🤔
  5. Black Beauty (her name from before my garage) had the best ergonomics for me of any car I’ve ever driven, even if your feet are skewed a bit to starboard. The layout made great sense, decent luggage allowance and a spare tyre. To my eyes one of the best body designs ever. And arguably the most fun to drive in it’s responsiveness. These pics from LOG 34 in A’ville. Bob Dance checking her out. We’d met him a in 2012 at Classic Lotus in Hethel, after Lotus were the featured marque at Goodwood Festival of Speed. Getting three cars ready to show was a fun day.
  6. The “Picture I took of my car today” thread revealed that some of us have shared time with a Europa. Here’s Black Beauty 3841R again. Brought her home on my 55th birthday. Dad owned some Dodge and Plymouth dealerships back in the muscle car days. Once when I was about 20 I was out with Dad buying cars. We went to a Ford dealer somewhere and there sat a perfect JPS. Dad knew that was my dream car. And that I knew he could buy it for me. We were there to buy cars, but cars to sell for profit. Dad said, and I told this at his funeral. “You’ll have to do that for yourself son”. It took 35 years but it came true. Thank you Dad for helping me believe it could happen. There are other stories with this wonderful little car. I am sure that everyone who posts here about their Europa wishes they knew where she was now. I titled this including that we have had a Seven in our garage at some point too. So the thread might not get scarce so quickly
  7. Black Beauty 3841R was my dream car, owned her twice.
  8. Need to report that this new mirror is quite good. Sharp image, remarkably reduced vibrations, and I like the blue tint. That stock mirror might work for a golf cart but guys there is a better way.
  9. 40 mile blat on the Blue Ridge Parkway this evening. Not a great pic as the sun had just set on this side of the mountain. Sure felt good to be out. Temp perfect, a touch cool once I got over 2500 ft. Approaching that 500 mile when we can open up the revs.
  10. Have drill, will travel. The carbon is very easy to modify, but the plastic socket around the ball has to be altered and no way to avoid nicking the ball a bit.
  11. Got ‘er done! Studied it a bit and jumped in. A somewhat delicate modification of the mirror body and part of the mount for the ball joint enabled enough angle to mount the nice mirror in a usable way. Being a retired Dentist helped, a straight handpiece and what I call a flame shaped acrylic bur worked great on the carbon. A straight 557 fissure bur cleaned up the delicate part right up to the ball joint. 2.5 illuminated magnification eyewear quite handy. Not driven it yet, just got in a mood and fixed it.
  12. Same mount I received, the forward side of the mirror is quite convex. Going to take considerable modification.
  13. Nice. Could you show us a view from the side? Looks like I need to prepare a 3/4” long channel to give it a prayer of being usable with this mount. i could use a badge like that for my steering whell as well. Looks thick and solid.
  14. Received the silvery mirror today. Nice looking piece. A photo hard to capture the depth of the material. But, there no way the “universal” bracket can mount it, if I want to see what’s behind us, not flying along behind us. I’ve reached out to Kamispeed, not expected back yet. But have any of you circumvented this issue?
