  1. I was there the whole week working for Mazda, wish I knew you were going. .
  2. That was my experience as well with the T-Rex. Had one for a few days when I was working with C/D mag and it was one of the scariest cars I've ever driven/ridden in. It would go from strong understeer to snap oversteer and there wasn't much in the way of communication from the chassis or steering (which for non power assist was completely dead feeling). It was the only car the test driver had ever spun while doing straight line testing and I think it's the only car I ever had to ask him to slow down while I was a passenger with him and I had been in some seriously fast cars (over 170mph) with him before Additionally, there was no way to avoid anything in the road at speed, you couldn't steer around it in fear of the car spinning (and it did), so you would just have to hit it with the rear wheel. Not sold on the three wheel concept at all. That said, it was fun to cruise in and it stopped people in their tracks, perhaps the most attention I've received in any vehicle. .
  3. Hope it drives better than a T-Rex .

  7. It belongs to Sam Smith the executive editor. He had an Elan prior to the 7. .
  8. Here is Road and Track Magazine's office .
  9. yes, you are very impressive , I long to come to your house and bow to your first grade superiority. .
  10. Wow, and you accuse me of having a "massive ego".... I really don't have the time, nor do I give a shit what you "THINK" I said anymore, I made myself clear, so go tell your friends what a tough guy you are winning an argument on the internet. GOOD JOB! :seeya: Great idea having a politics section Mazda! .
  11. :banghead: Apparently you don't know how to read between the lines.... when I said it would cost some people money I was referring to the negatives. I am sorry I didn't go into enough detail for you to figure that out, but I was trying to be brief. .
  12. I am rewriting History now?! WTF? Dang, you must have some good dope  OK what did I say then? Huh? No YOU were trying to bait the discussion to be about the economic impact. I merely pointed out that I believe that the benefits of doing something outweighs the negatives regardless of whether global warming is true or not. PERIOD! It shouldn't have been that hard to for you to understand had you not been so determined to jump to conclusions and pick a fight over something I didn't say. Right back at you chief .
  13. Not slippery, just expect you to actually read what I wrote What part did of "...the worst that happens is some people had to spend money, some new jobs and new technology were created" did you not understand? i.e some would lose money, some would make money (AKA same shit different day) Now on the other hand, you ignore the economic GAIN of such changes. And it's only a "non-problem" in your opinion, many disagree with you. To add, many great things came out of trying to solve "non problems" .
  14. Uh, where did I mention anything about government spending? I said "We" meaning everyone, globally even. Now if you hadn't been so quick to pull the ole blame the government for everything routine you might have noticed that I had not ignored the economic cost of it and that I had made the same point as Slomove did :seeya: .
  15. You sure seem to be putting a lot of words in my mouth .
  16. There is nothing "settled", the naysayers twist the data to fit their agenda just the same, it's political and it's all about which side of the coin you chose to believe. Really? How is it a disservice to clean up pollution and try to create a better environment? Personally, I don't know whether global warming is real or not and don't really care to argue one way or another, but as I see it, if it turns out to be real and we don't act on it, we're fucked. If it turns out not to be real and we acted on it, the worst that happens is some people had to spend money, some new jobs and new technology were created, we have a cleaner environment, better air, and we go on our way. Doesn't seem like a disservice to me http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif .
  17. Um, not unusual since it was a press conference in a foreign country, not a speech in front of supporters. Much ado about nothing... Nice try though :flag: BTW, Bush got about 3 people to applaud on his LAST ever press conference in the US  .
  18. I hate to break it to you, but most of the 2800 members are probably spam bots. And of those that aren't spambots, many are people who considered one but didn't buy or those that wish they could buy one but can't. What is the criteria set at for being an "active member" on this forum? The default setting I believe is logged in within 30 days and most likely that activity is being bumped up by those spam bots Seems to me there really is only like 20 or so(if that) truly active members on this forum. And personally I don't want them to sell a lot of cars http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif .
  19. Err, it was your second post which gave something to "read into" .
  20. Yup! :iagree: Having driven my share of supercars, I have to say that telling my friends I drove them was more fun than actually driving them. That said, I find the P1 to be pretty friggen cool (wouldn't want to own one though) .
  21. Motor Trend #'s not McLarens http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/exotic/1403_mclaren_p1_how_i_set_the_motor_trend_production_car_record/ Edit, 0-100 only .
  22. Just read the new McLaren P1 did 0-100 in 4.8s .
  23. Perhaps, but I am sure there are plenty of people like me who wouldn't even consider anything other than a Caterham. .
  24. As has been pointed out, this forum is no gauge of sales. Over the years I have met many 7 owners that either didn't know about or had no interest in the forums (even met 2 more last week). Back in November, while trying to procure a Caterham for a magazine article, I found 3 brand new builds underway just in northern California none of which had been discussed on the forum. .
  25. Can't even recall how many times over the years someone bragged to me that a 427 Cobra does 0-100-0 in 10s? :bs: .
