  1. i just got my seven, but can't drive it till it gets inspected in two weeks. i already noticed all my shoes are too big for the pedals. i have been looking at some pumas and found these http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7477341/c/1001.html would these fit, or would they be too big? actually just found these racing boots. im sure that they should fit http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001B52X3A/ref=nosim/?tag=nextag-apparel0c-mp-delta-20&creative=380333&creativeASIN=B001B52X3A&linkCode=asn what has everyone else gone with?
  2. yeah you can see the info on this website... http://www.lotusowners.com/ForSale/Caterham%20For%20Sale/index.htm
  3. one thing i noticed to is the shifter feels much more solid then the lotus. after feeling a different car, you can really see how sloppy the lotus's really is.
  4. lol! i like your thinking!
  5. yeah im really thinking i should at least drive it up and down my street a few times.
  6. thanks, i'll have to look at the symbols on the switches to figure which one is which. i noticed you do have to push down pretty hard to get it into reverse. i also noticed that i need to buy some pumas or something, all my shoes hit the brake and gas at the same time. also, how big is the tank? thanks for the replies, now just wait 2 weeks before i can drive it. i dont know if i wanna risk driving it with no plates or registration.
  7. i recently sent my lotus to FVMC to have some parts added, and also just bought a new caterham. i got my lotus about 3 days ago and now i got my seven! i just have a few questions though. how do you put it into reverse? i tried going all the way over but it only wants to go in 1st. also i only know what half of the buttons and switch do. can someone fill me in. other then that i love it already, even though i have to wait till may 6th for the inspection.
  8. i went there and did that and the guy had to call the state. he was confused because it doesn't say caterham on the title and doesn't have the VIN, only the NY state issued VIN. when he got off the phone he said i had to get it inspected by the police and then go back to the license center. do you think i should try going to the license center again and point those things out to them?
  9. do i have to drive my car to the inspection place or will someone come out to my house to look at it? it doesn't have a license plate or anything on it so i don't know if i can drive it there
  10. i have a 3M clear bra on my lotus, but it came with the car so i dont know how much it cost. i have to say it works great and has kept all the rock chips off.
  11. so has the elise been eliminated?
  12. yeah it is in my opinion. during the summer i use it as my daily driver. the only days i don't drive it is when it is raining. Also the oil changes are easy to do yourself, just remove the undertray and everything is right there.
  13. every thing you said i have to agree with. i have also heard that letting off too fast will make you spin. my dealer charges $350 for an oil change!
  14. i love my elise. that may be because it is by only car that i have owned besides my lincoln continental, which is my beater. i love how it is unlike any other car and is extremely fun to drive. i love every second i have in the car and it always makes me smile. i love it enough to not care that much about the strange rattles, squeaks, leaking windows, HUGE blindspots, cheap plastic interior, worthless radio and AC..... the list can go on for a while. But i would never sell it. Its too much fun! Can't wait to add my Caterham to the garage!
  15. well i own both! i have owned a 2006 lotus elise for over two years and in the past few months i bought a 2003 caterham super seven dedion. i am about to get the seven transported to me from new york in the next couple weeks, so i'll get my first drive of a seven then. i'll let you know how the seven compares to my elise once i get some good driving in
  16. yeah think i should be fine, the title is from NY. i'll see once i get the car if i have any more problems.
  17. yeah that sounds right. right now it has a title from new york so it has the VIN and the NY assigned VIN. since i bought it used i don't think i have a receipt for the engine or chassis. will i be ok without it? and since i don't have plates, will the inspector come out to my house?
  18. yeah thats what i have heard from others, that they check the basic stuff like matching VIN's and stuff.
  19. so i just bought a 2003 caterham super 7 dedion. i already got insurance on it but have a few questions about registering and getting plates. i live in MN and i just got the title in the mail today. i went to the license bureau today to get the title in my name. after them calling the state, he said i needed to go to a police station to have them inspect it to make sure its road legal. once i bring it there and have them inspect it, he said then bring the title back to them. so will i get something from the police saying they inspected it? and once i do that will the registration be like normal, and i will get my plates? will i need any other info when i go back to the license bureau? thanks for the help, Dan
  20. they already have some clips of it on you tube. it beats the veyron around the track
  21. yeah thats what i meant to say is k24
