2000 Birkin S3 Price $24,500 This car is a nice driver, runs well with what appears to be a stock 2.0 liter Zetec with a Ford ECU. The car odometer shows 25,000 + or - miles. The following is a list of features this car has. • Green with a yellow stripe • Cloth boot and tonneau cover • Vinyl Birkini top • Spare tire and carrier • 2.0 liter Zetec • Ford ECU • New battery • Chassis re-wired in 2011 • 5 speed Ford T9 gearbox • Live axle • Standard seats • FRP’s floor mats • Carbon fiber dash and console • Heater • Panasport wheels • Third brake light This car is titled as a 1967 Lotus with an Alaska Title. I am selling this car for the owner, it is located in Colorado and can be seen and test driven there. All information is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I may be contacted at 970-376-5188 for more information or any questions. Tom Carlin

Thanks, all is working fine now. Tom

Has anyone else had a problem paying dues with PayPal. I have been trying for a week and PayPal message says can't send payment at this time. Thanks, Tom
-
I have the car back from paint and have started assembly. There are pictures of the painted body here http://birkindirect-usa.com/gallery/ under the SS3XS Build tab. Tom

I checked the tube sizes on the new style header today and the primary tubes are 1.625". these 2 feed into 1.625" and then those 2 feed into 2". Tom
-
I will try to get some comparison pictures of the 2 cars prior to sending the wide car to the paint shop. I will get the exhaust header tube sizes Wednesday and post them. Tom
-
I don't have a weight on just the chassis but I bet the weight difference is only about 20 lbs. There has been weight savings in some of the new components to offset the increased materials in the chassis. I will post a weight when the car is completed. Tom

We are supplying install kits for the Duratec or Zetec however the engine bay is large enough for one of the motorcycle based V8 engines. The typical gearbox is still the T9 and the rear differential is either Sierra or Subaru STI R180. There is plenty of room for a dry sump oil system and one would be recommended for a car that is dedicated for the track. The basic kit you see in the picture is around $26,000 FOB Eagle, Colorado. You still need the typical owner choice items like drivetrain, wheels, tires, dampers, fuel delivery system and instruments. As we all know beyond the factory supplied kit parts you can spend as much as you want to complete a car. Thanks, Tom

Skip, Thank you, yes that is the chassis and all of the parts as they come from the factory, after being uncrated. I will continue to post pictures as the car gets assembled. Tom

Direct-USA Press Release 12/13/13 The first example of the new SS3-XS (wide body) Birkin has arrived. This is a newly designed car from the ground up using over 80% new or re-engineered components as compared to the original S3. Birkin will continue to offer the S3 with all of the updates from the new SS3-XS incorporated into the new cars. This is the first major update since 2009. We expect the arrival of the first of three containers of new cars and replacement parts in the first quarter of 2014 Some of the features of the new cars are: • 3” longer and 4” wider cockpit (S3SX only the S3 remains the same) • Redesigned billet aluminum uprights, the same for both front and rear • Uprights offering 2 ride height options • New suspension attachment • New inboard front anti roll bar • New rear wheel attachment using studs and nuts rather than bolts • More aerodynamic nosecone • The option of spherical bearing wishbone to chassis mounts • Both models available as track specific cars with integral full roll cage • Additional bracing for a stiffer chassis From this time forward all Birkin sales of new cars and replacement parts will be factory direct via our US Showroom and Warehouse facility, Birkin Direct-USA, located in Colorado. This new distribution facility is a joint venture between the Birkin Factory (John Watson) and Rocky Mountain Motor Works (Tom Carlin). This venture allows the customer a direct link to the Birkin factory and full factory support. For further information or to schedule a visit to our facility please contact Tom Carlin at 970-376-5188 We look forward to working with you, Birkin Direct-USA John Watson Tom Carlin

The first 2 pictures are from just a couple of days ago. The 3rd of the upright installed was taken during development and the actual production version will vary somewhat. Yes the spacers are used to allow the 30mm change in ride height and to retain the same geometry. Thanks, Tom

BIRKIN Direct-USA Update Work progresses on the first order of the new Wide Body cars for the US. In this photo are the second 6 of the 18 new Wide Body chassis clad and awaiting final preparation prior to shipment. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=5567&stc=1&d=1383431673 This is a cart of the newly designed uprights, they are fabricated of billet aluminum as opposed to cast. The same upright is used on all 4 corners of the car and can be turned over to lower the ride height by 30mm, for track days, without changing the suspension geometry. There are uprights on the cart for 42 cars. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=5568&stc=1&d=1383431749 New upright installed. You can also see the pushrod for the new inboard mounted front anti-roll bar. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=5569&stc=1&d=1383432018 Thank you for looking, more information to follow. Due to the low initial response and a number of cancelations over the last week or so this event has been canceled. Thank you to everyone that responded. Tom

That would be great. It would be nice to see some more Colorado cars there. This event is open to all 7 type cars. Tom

Colorado Seven’s Festival Hi to All, Now is the time to start finalizing accommodations for this event. We have a block of rooms held at the hotel in Colorado Springs, now the Hotel Elagante’. We have rooms there 7/13, the night before the tour starts, 7/15 and 7/16, for the track days. They are providing us with trailer parking and a Hospitality Suite to store our luggage during the tour. You can call the hotel at 800-981-4012. The single and double rate is $119, triple $129 and quad $139, this includes a full breakfast buffet in Thibodeaux’s restaurant. You need to call and make your reservation no later than 6/21/13. Tell them you are with the Colorado Seven’s Group. We have a hold on all of the rooms at the Victor hotel for the night of 7/14. I MUST know by this Friday morning 6/7 if you are coming and want one of the 10 rooms at this hotel for the overnight tour. There are other hotels in Cripple Creek for any overflow. I have attached a copy of the event schedule below. Please contact me via e-mail (so I have your contact information) to let me know your plans. Thanks, Tom 970-376-5188 Dates have been selected for a Colorado Seven Festival, they are July 14th through 17th. The following is an outline of the event. The track days and the tour have changed order but basically the same activities. I would like to start getting a more accurate count on people who plan to attend to estimate accommodations. Please send me an email (tcarlin@colorado.net) with your contact information and I will start the list and keep you updated. Day 1, July 14th, We will depart From Colorado Springs and drive to the top of Pikes Peak (http://pikespeak.us.com/Essentials/hours-and-fees.html ), the road that the Pikes Peak Hill Climb is held on each year. This is a 19 mile drive each way ending at an elevation of over 14,000 feet and is now paved the entire way. Next would be lunch at Wines of Colorado (http://www.winesofcolorado.com/ ). They have a nice patio along side a creek. After lunch we will head to our overnight accommodations the historic Victor Hotel (http://www.victorhotelcolorado.com/ ). This is off the beaten path but only 6 miles to the historic gold rush town of Cripple Creek (http://www.visitcripplecreek.com/ ) where we will go for dinner. in Cripple Creek they have saved many of the old buildings from after the fire in 1896. There is low stakes gambling in Cripple Creek so anyone wishing to try their luck at the slot machines or blackjack tables could, if not a walk around town and back to the hotel at your leisure. There are many things to do in this area including narrow gage train rides, gold mine tours, hiking, historic tours, and of course scenic drives. Day 2, July 15th, We will return to the Colorado Springs area via a slightly different route with a drive through Garden of the Gods http://www.gardenofgods.com/home/index.cfm?flash=1 ) Day 3 and 4, July 16th and 17th, Track days at Pikes Peak International Raceway (http://www.ppir.com/ ) , this track is about 15 miles south of Colorado Springs. They have infield RV hook ups for those who would like to stay at the track and parking for tow vehicles during the tour. We will be using the Crowne Plaza in Colorado Springs (http://www.cpcoloradosprings.com/ ) as our host hotel. They work with car clubs on a regular basis and have nice facilities. The track rates will be $150 per driver per day. This is an event for all 7 type cars so please put this out to any other part of the 7 community at large. There is a lot to do in Colorado and this could be used as a start to or the end of a longer vacation including other family members. There are also a number of things for non driving family members to do during the track days if they wish. Thanks for your response, Tom Carlin Rocky Mountain Motor Works Eagle, Colorado 970-376-5188
