  1. Hi Guys, Just about to paint my frontsuspension on my Seven, and even though the original Lotus color is grey I fancy the black one that Caterham uses. But does anyone know what the original colorcode for the Caterham chassis is? I know it is some sort of black..but not what exactly which one (I'm thinking it could be super satin, satin, matte etc.) / Rune:flag:
  2. Hi Craig, Thanks a lot!:flag:
  3. Hi Craig, Sounds like an awesome project you have there! If I didn't already have an early Caterham I would jump on this one! However, I hope you will take the time to answer me on one simple question. You see I'm currently trying to get a specific date on when my chassis is from (it has been re-newed at some point), and from what I can conclude from the frame and joints, it is an early one, probably around late 70's or early 80's. My question is: What is your framenumber, and where is it stamped in on the chassis? Reason for asking is that if I have your number, I will have a fair chance of getting an estimate on whether or not mine is from that era. I have tried Arch Motors, Lotus, and Caterham without any luck. Hope you can help me BR Rune
  4. downforce equipment ! awesome isn't it?
  5. Mine has 61K on it..though I've only done about 1.2K in since I bought it about 3 months ago... What a GREAT summer for a 21 year old kid!
  6. Right now, I more than ever, hate that we don't have hooters in Denmark!!!
  7. hehe yeah now you have an instruction video. I have never used my top though...you're always driving so fast that the rainddrops don't even get into the cokpit hehe:drool:
  8. Hehe so true..so true:drool:
  9. i know, when i did it I thought to my self "arh daamn!" but you know. 2?..I can see how you can get the first person in, but the 2. must be a little difficult. How about how fast to get in or out? any records? anyone?
  10. Thanks a lot:) Haha not a bad idea at all. I've also spent all my college money on the car so, could really use some:P I have attached a picture..hope its ok? It is the original S3 taillight (at least the brake light), but the rubberpack isn't. The rubberpack should be a little uneven, so that when you putt it on the rearfender, that bends, the taillight should be horizontal. If anyone knows where to find such a rubberpack, I would like to know:) /rune
  11. Hi MHKflyer Thanks a lot! As you probably have seen also, I posted a Thread were all the information you asked about are mentioned( http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4096 ) I realised there was such a "Members rides" after I had posted the pictures in this thread. But a orginal 1969 S3, original 1600 x-flow engine The MG A next to my Seven, is my dads. I still live home, so I can borrow the garage. He actually got it just about a year ago, bought it in California, and got it shipped to Denmark, were we live. The MG is also a great car, but not nearly as ultimate and raw as the Lotus:) /rune
  12. Thanks for that! Since it is from argentina..Isn't that one of the South American Sevens (as you said the chassis may have been the only one sold to south america)? They build Sevens on a liscense? (as one stated in another thread yesterday?)
  13. @ slngsht & 11Budlite Thanks a lot:) I really enjoy it. The best car I've ever bought:P @ solder_guy okay okay I will try and see what I can find out.
  14. Thanks a lot... Just to prove that a 74 inches tall man actually CAN get into a Seven with a roof on.. Future buyers shouldn't be "scared":smilielol5:
  15. THanks a lot Valenz I will try to find some equipment to record the engine noise. I have some sort of newer Caterham exaust system on, which goes all the way back to the rear of the car, so it doest sound of much...I've considered getting a sidepipe, but again, then it may not be so fun to cruise around in (as it is now, i can cruise around a whole day, without ruining my ears:P) /Rune
  16. I tried that, but then the piping that is on the inner"carpet" on the side broke..so..quickly decided not too. and I'm a little to high for that / i can't bend that much:P..maybe yoga could help? hehe I found out that the way of just climbing all the way on the passergerseat and then put your legs under the steering wheel and then slide down, is pretty good too.
  17. Exactly, I really really like the color scheme, with the yellow nose. It is an original Lotus 7, with some matching numbers with engine and SB-number. Got a new chassis at somepoint, and new alu. Otherwise 100% original, mechanically. It has got some new fenders and bonnet. /Rune
  18. Hi all So this is my attempt to get in and out of a Seven:P I'm 1,88 meters (not quite sure what that is in inches:P..about 74 inches?) Haven't worked on the way since, but I think there may be a better way. I was quite surprised that it infact wasn't that difficult, once you find a way. Anyway hope you like it:) In: [/url] Out:
  19. Hi all Posted in another forum by accident. But this is my baby. Found her 7 (!) weeks ago, after about 10 years of saving, and 1½ years of hunting all over the world. Found her 200miles from where I live. Its an original xflow 1600 engine with just about 60000 miles on it. Original gearbox and rearaxle. At some point it got reskinned, and a new chassis. Just uploaded a couple of pictures for you guy. I'm in college, and it is my little baby, only get to drive in perfect sunshine:P
  20. Hi all again Now i've owned the Seven for 7 (not kidding) weeks, and its just a BLAST! love to drive it. I promised you guys some pictures..so here we go!
  21. I've only had my Seven for 7 weeks (still LOVE to drive it, for any excuse), starting in college again tomorrow, quite sure that i'm gonna take that baby out for a spin to the college. Anyway I've managed to hit, in my old original Seven S3 from 1969, 1600 xflow with 60000 original miles on it....according to speedo...90 mph!! and that was slighty uphill. I could feel that there werent that much power left. 90 mph is also what i've been doing in my old Peugeot 205 (everyday driver) and let me tell you, i'd much rather do 90 in the Seven..feel so much safer haha
  22. After I have read the add again, I Agree, it doesn't say its original Twin Cam. Must admit that I thought that when I saw the price:eek: geezz way to much. Does anyone know if there are any of the original 13 twin cams left, and how many, and where they are today??
  23. Seems a little to good to be true..doesn't it? IF it is an original TWIN-CAM S3, it should be one out of only about 13 made, and on top of that...left hand drive?.. I'm not sure, but I don't recall any of the original TWIN-CAM S3's to have left the factory as a LHD But IS this true, then the price is maybe just on the high side, but surely they should be expensive, because they are extremly rare. I'm quite sure that it has been for sale for quite some time now..think I've seen it before on another webpage.
  24. @ thedingo8mybaby and lowflyer Thank you very much to both of you! Helped a lot The valves have now been adjustet and so have the iginition, can't wait to pop the cooler back in and fire her up!! 2 weeks without a Seven kick is just too long:P /rune and SB2583
  25. Hey All I'm going through my newly bought Lotus Seven S3 with a 1600 Crossflow Ford 2255E engine, and now I've reached the valves. I've found the valve clearence for a HOT engine, but not for a COLD. Since adjusting the valve clearence for a COLD engine is easier I was wondering if anyone out there would know the clearence for a cold engine?? Also..does anyone know what the Iginition setting should be? How many degrees? Hope you can help:) /rune and SB2583
