  1. Btw twobone, my buddy owns a vinyl decal cutting company. If you're interested, I can get a set made for you too. I'm thinking of doing the double side stripes with "SE7EN" on the sides and maybe a bonnet stripe as well. Once he gets the measurement off my car I think I might do a group buy on this forum with proceeds to the admin crew:)
  2. That jpeg is great, thanks! Is there a ready-made kit out there that I can just buy? I bought the cycle wings off the eBay.uk site from a seller called vicfibretech. They were very well priced at $65+shipping. They can paint it for you free of charge. Highly recommend them.
  3. You park her outside? Egads!!
  4. Had a great meet today with another 7 owner in the city. Great guy, and I understand he lurks here. With his help and tools we pulled off the front clamshells and although I love the look, I'd like to minimize harassment from the po-po, so I'm looking to see what kind of cycle fender mounting solutions are out there. Here's what I have to work with: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs144.ash2/40523_466131721223_690446223_6713424_5715306_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs104.ash2/38560_466131756223_690446223_6713427_5062799_n.jpg Here she is sans clams and the cycles thrown on for looks: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs232.snc4/38916_466071951223_690446223_6711416_857285_n.jpg Cosmetically I think the front suspension needs a black paintjob, I'd like to ditch the front grill (or paint it black), and swap the windshield for a pair of Brooklands. I'd also like to put a flat black stripe along the side to break up the slab look a la Caterham R500: http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/01/20/article-1123703-028A26B4000005DC-504_468x304.jpg Ugh, so many little things I can do to make it stand out!
  5. Pics? Camann! I was better than this!
  6. Good luck! I expect a thread from you about your first blat!
  7. Wow, a lot of stalkers in Canada it seems. One day, I shall have one.
  8. Yup, I have 3Balls in my sights. Only thing is that weekend I might be out of town. I'm planning to do the CMP lapping day the Fri before 3balls. CMP lapping (their own in-house lapping club) charges the same as 3Balls for only one day at Calabogie. BTW Bogie is a gorgeous track. Everyone on the east coast need to come out here and give it a whirl at least once. I've been there 3 times this year already in my NSX. I will probably do a short 2 hr lapping session there in early Aug with the 7. I posted a vid of me chasing a real Lotus Super 7 in the vid forum a few weeks back...
  9. Thanks CC, I'm already a member of the MCO. I have been to the autocross as a spectator a few times, and many of my friends love it but its just not my bag.
  10. Tempting but I have never done an autocross and will not embarrass myself by debuting in this event! I'm more of a wide open track lapping kinda guy
  11. For sure. I emailed the guy and he says as soon as he's in front of his work computer he'll send them over by PDF. I'll be sure to pass them onto you.

  14. Hey guys, At the risk of photo whoring my car everywhere on this forum, I am going to just make one more dedicated post about my new car Picked up this car after seeing its Ebay listing posted here, contacted the seller, had a friend inspect the car and then buying it sight unseen. I've sat in a Caterham 7 about 10 years ago, seen a couple on the road when I was in Japan but I never had a chance to drive one until mine arrived. Got it plated last week and finally had a chance to go out with her last Thurs and again today. First impressions: wow, this thing is RAW! I own a couple of other sports cars but nothing outside of a motorcycle prepared me for the pure viceral experience of being behind the wheel of this thing. I sit low, lower than even in my lowered NSX, and looking over my left shoulder I see the road rushing by underneath. My car is only powered by a 95 hp Toyota 2TC but the sensation of speed is incredible. Appropriately my first outing (aside from meeting a friend briefly for a coffee last Thurs night) was a trip to Brittania Park here in Ottawa for the annual All British Car Show. I only had a couple of hours so I didn't enter my car in the show but it didn't prevent a small swarm of English car nuts from gathering around my car as soon as I pulled into the lot. Amongst them was a fellow who is currently building a homemade kit 7 who took a few pics of the car. I also ran into another gentleman who owns a Fejer 7 and is a verifiable historian on the marque. I learned so much from him in 20 mins about my car, including the fact that mine is a +4 model (wider and longer) than a standard 7. Cool. I also met his friend who told me he *almost* bought my very car 3 years ago and lost out due to travel plans. Wow small world. Anyhow, here are some pics from today: Me and my new toy http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs176.snc4/38127_460757076223_690446223_6554908_6307367_n.jpg next to my M3 vert http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs096.ash2/38127_460757056223_690446223_6554904_3418457_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs176.snc4/38127_460757061223_690446223_6554905_1027431_n.jpg interior: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs096.ash2/38127_460757066223_690446223_6554906_7169289_n.jpg
  15. Forgive me guys but I'm a total newbie. Where can I buy a set of these windows? I think they look great. Also, how functional are they? Do they really do a decent job of directing air aover your head or are they much worse than the standard windshield for keeping bugs away from your face?
  16. Well, having owned my Fejer 7 for a week now I've been constantly asked what the heck it is and the only answer that seem to work is "It's a 67 Lotus". Its not of course, but it seems the year 1967 seem to make sense when they look at it since its obviously not something designed yesterday.
  17. More (small) delays. The shop took longer than expected this morning with the safety and I had to go to work before they finished. BUT, safety's been done, have al paperwork, planning to run to the Ministry tomorrow afternoon to complete the mission. Hope I don't run into snags. The old owner signed off a handwritten receipt for me and signed the ownership. In Ontario we need an official province-issued bill of sale so I'll pay for that. If they need the seller's signature on that I'll be cooked. Really hoping it will be fine. Ottawa hosts its annual All British Car Day this Sat and it would be cool to show up in the Fejer. Cool thing was while it was up on the hoist my buddy and I pulled a lot of the body panels off and admire the almost anal-retentive details the old owner had done to the car. Its solid, and you can tell he spared nothing to get things right. A lot of fabricated bits, cnc'd brackets etc. The only gripe is the front suspension arms and rear spare wheel bracket looked like it was painted with a brush, and its BR green. Ugh, gota shoot it in flat black. Stuff to consider over the winter. http://www.britishcarday.ca/
  18. Haggarty came through! Insurance will be on tomorrow and I'll be on the road! Pics to come!!!
  19. Update: Lotus arrived today! Just got here around 7pm, towed here from Toronto by my buddy and his race tow vehicle...a decommissioned ambulance lol! Thanks to Chad (aka readysetgo) I contacted Haggartys and might have insurance lined up by this time tomorrow (fingers crossed!). Took some quick pics before carting it off to my storage unit until I can get some plates on. Pics don't do justice to the quality of the paintjob..immaculate! Door bell rings, who's outside? http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs038.snc4/34284_458568971223_690446223_6497726_7840725_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs038.snc4/34284_458568976223_690446223_6497727_4053483_n.jpg My kids http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs018.snc4/34284_458568991223_690446223_6497730_7121609_n.jpg Love at first sight! http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs018.snc4/34284_458568961223_690446223_6497724_7092065_n.jpg
  20. First time out at Calabogie Motorsports Park in the wet with my NSX. Was not fun. The trak was super greasy and the new sways have not been dialed in yet. lots of oversteer! Met a cool gentleman with an orig 1969 Lotus 7. [/url]
  21. It was Tweed. Hwy and 37 is brutal. For some reason I keep tempting fate by taking it ever time I go to the GTA due to the awesome chip wagon in the public park there. They see this: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs153.snc4/36971_10150198790545061_846135060_13186913_4553598_n.jpg ...and the ticket is already written before they get out of the cruiser, apparently. I wonder how they will treat the 7?
  22. Looks like the wait will have to kill me even longer! Just got off the phone...the classic car insurance plan here (Silver Wheels) won't underwrite me because of my 3 past convictions! The first one comes off in Oct and looks like I will have to wait until the fall to finally legally drive it on the road. This is total BS. All 3 convictions happened in the last 2 years in my NSX, all were in the same small town I drove through on the way to Toronto from Ottawa when I went to Mosport for their HPDE days. They are for 90, 88 and 84 in a 80 km/h zone! None involved points and since I didn't want to take time out of my work to fight them I just paid the bloody fines and forgot about them. My own insurance carrier doesn't care about them but they won't insure a specialty vehicle. &*(^%&*$%@#!!!!!
  23. willing to part out?
  24. OK, so my buddy in Toronto picked up my Fejer 7 forme last night. Money exhanged hands and now it's sitting in buddy's trailer waiting to be delivered to me this Sunday. The anticipation is killing me!:toetap05: Here're some pics he took just to rub it in... http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs081.ash2/37398_529826802953_227200863_1577536_3420218_n.jpg operating a cell phone cam while driving..tsk tsk! http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs064.snc4/34548_529826782993_227200863_1577535_5938483_n.jpg YES! http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs141.snc4/36388_529826862833_227200863_1577537_4181996_n.jpg I have a few toys here, but waiting for the 7 is doing things to my mind like nothing before. Now I know what Steve was going through waiting for his Caterham from Japan. I'm also still waiting for my insurance from Silver Wheels. Hopefully they can still use the appraisal from the old owner. Once it gets here on Sunday I'll be rushing to the MTO on monday to get it registered.
  25. Love it!
