She held her own. Corners were a breeze, straightaways were a challenge. The ergonomics takes a bit of getting used to as the dash cuts very low and I couldn't crank the steering wheel as tight as I normally do in my track car without bumping into my thigh. My tach was also acting up so I was going easy on the throttle since I didn't want to blow anything up! Everyone loved the car. As for the Atom...I have to keep it hush right now since its a little delicate, but its a local sale, not listed anywhere. Here're more pics: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs384.snc4/44698_476621986223_690446223_7004921_4229425_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs198.ash2/46096_476622156223_690446223_7004923_5968692_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs398.snc4/46096_476622161223_690446223_7004924_3720770_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs398.snc4/46096_476622166223_690446223_7004925_4301357_n.jpg

Haha, so much for subtlety I am testing the waters as I might be able to pick up an Ariel Atom for a very good price. I tired to post it on this site but its not allowing me. Asking $17K.

I normally track my nsx at the local circuit but yesterday I decided to bring the 7 instead. Fun times! Here I am schooling the field: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs402.snc4/46556_476131871223_690446223_6987687_7505043_n.jpg Goggles Pizano (I love how my head is the highest vertical point): http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs415.snc4/47803_476132106223_690446223_6987688_3513766_n.jpg

Seven Grill, Seven Heat Shield and other custom parts
Oyagi replied to solder_guy's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Very sharp looking. I'll do a tracing of my grill and see about sending it to him for a custom grill. Thanks for the headsup! -
^^Damn, this guy is good! I should have added that that bolt pattern is 4x114.3 Also, these wheels might be up for sale as I've just picked up a set of 14" RS Watanabes. http://www.genkidoridori.com/images/watanabe2.png They're used, and again I have no idea what the offsets are but I hope they fit. Uber-lite!

OK, got her home tonight and had a chance to take better pics: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs314.snc4/41059_474533666223_690446223_6946163_1567030_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs305.snc4/40580_474533716223_690446223_6946164_6787772_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs145.ash2/40580_474533721223_690446223_6946165_605353_n.jpg

Been posted here elsewhere. It's a novel way for Lotus to get some extra development data for their F1 and Indy cars without paying for it.

Haha, thanks for putting the thread back on track. The best thing about vinyl striping is that its 100% reversible, so if I ever get tired I just heat with a gun and peel off! The picture showing the hood was before he trimmed the stripe off the hood emblem. It looks way better now. Too bad the car is at another shop getting suspension tweaks done (new bushings all around) or I'd have some sweet pics to show off. My plans over winter is to paint the windshield, headlights and rollbar (after additional bracing added) black. I am really going for a R500 look. Next might e an engine swap in a years time when I get too tired of my whopping 100 hp

Looks good!

My car's spent a week at a friend's place getting custom front fender mounts fabricated. I love the results. Right now it's at a local vinyl shop getting some Caterham R500-inspired stripes put on. If anyone's interested, he's got the dimensions figured out and can produce a decal set for you. PM me for pricing http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs397.snc4/46027_473038681223_690446223_6905305_7982565_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs285.snc4/40610_473038381223_690446223_6905304_6224056_n.jpg I'll take some more pics when it's out of the shop.

me too!

There's a reason these cars have been in production for so long...good design is good design.

My NSX hits 18 this year and people ask me everyday I drive it whether its a new model.

Guys, lets try and keep this thread on topic as a sign up sheet. Directions should be either through PM or a new thread

Problem solved. I blast of carb cleaner and allowing it to soak for a good 15 mins and she fired up on the first crank!
-
If it sticks true to the concept, I'd buy one. Heck, I originally wanted something like that (would have bought an Ariel Atom but they are not street legal up here), but I went with one of my all-time favourite cars, the 7. A logical name that trades on the legend of the 7 moniker but does not pander to it would be The 8.
-
Checked filter and carb as i was cranking it and it looked fine. Plugs weren't wet and they sparked fine. I also added fuel (just in case the gage is not accurate). This is frustrating...
-
I admit I'm new to carbs but they are supposed to be simpler no? As my title suggest, I am unable to get my car to start. I've been away for 5 days, car ran like a champ before Ileft. Came home today, hopped in the car and NOTHING! I can smell fuel and assumed at first I fouled the plugs, so I popped them out, cleaned them off, aired out the engine for 30 mins, still nothing. Ran out and got new plugs, gapped them, etc. No change. I guess plug wires, distributor cap is next on the list. Battery is fully charged too. I should mention its a Toyota 2TC. Suggestions?

Caterham Super Seven - greatest driver car ever - no contest
Oyagi replied to twobone's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Great post and pics! Love your car...you should keep the classic clamshells! -
I'm thinking you'd better paint it. I can supply you with enough vinyl and maybe you'll need to cut it to size with an x-acto and be good with some soapy water, squeegee and a heat gun. A good tint shop should be able to help.

I think in the short term I'll just run out to a hardware store and look for black rubber plugs. Later I will get them filled the sides repainted.
