Yep, I was a screwie as well. Attempted for a little while to try and get the parts owed, but in the end just swallowed my pride on the money lost and went to vendors like Jack at Kinetic out in Oregon. Ya know, someone who makes a great product and follows it up with fantastic customer service. Novel concept

Screwed people out of parts after taking their money. Stopped answering emails. Stopped returning phone calls. Horrible QC on the parts they did sell. Has been MIA except for some eBay sales for the last 4 years... Slightly more info here: http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2640

Sold. Mods feel free to close up the thread. Thanks all. PS - I will still be donating 5% of the final sale, though we will be doing it to the San Francisco SPCA once we get out west. Gotta show love for our furry friends. -

Hey bud, That has crossed our mind and I might just end up doing that if we don't have any luck. Though there is the bigger issue of not having a place to store the car out there, place to work on it, etc. We'll just be renting an apartment in SF for at least the first couple of years until we see where we land with jobs and what neighborhoods we like. Thanks though for the suggestion! -Ryan -

Up on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270782422852&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_981wt_1167 5% of the final sale will be donated to the ASPCA -on ebay or off I'll gladly still make the donation. So get bidding and help puppies will ya. In all seriousness, make an offer because I really don't want to trailer across the country considering we want to take a bit of a winding route (family and friends in DC, Texas, Colorado, Utah, etc that we plan to visit) and getting 10MPG across 4,500 miles would really not be fun. -Ryan -

Hawks Nest in Port Jervis, NY and 7 Lakes Drive near Bear Mountain are good spots, but there's a lot of traffic around as well. Old Mine Road used to be a great hidden gem near Dingmans Ferry on the PA/NJ border but the road is in dire need of a repave. I would not go there with a bike or 7. South East of Dingmans Ferry is River Road which is quite nice, secluded and has lots of interesting little side roads. Highly recommended. Swamp road if you make it out to the Hamptons.

Ok folks, update and PRICE DROP! My wife might be getting a job offer, so we there is a chance we'll be heading to San Fran a bit earlier so it has really lit the fire under my ass to get this sold. I'm looking to sell this car for $10,500 bucks. Trailer is still available, and now for an extra $2,000. I'm even willing to deliver up to about a 10 hour drive. Pass it on to your buds! -
I know we only had 2 weeks of vacation to work with! I would have loved to explore more, it was such a great experience. Talking to you guys about this is not good, I want to start looking at flight deals to the middle of no where now...:banghead: Ironically, after all the travel we did to Indiana Jones type places, I've never really been to Europe. Well, Turkey but that doesn't really count.

3 more hours to go or so on ebay. Hoping she hits my mark so I can get my ass to the West coast -
Thank you Mike! It's funny, a few times during the trip I was really clamoring to be back home, now that we are here, boy do I miss travel. The last 2 weeks we realized it would be ending soon and ugh, definitely had some doubts as to cancelling flights or not. Nepal was actually my "number 1" spot to hit on my list and we went 3 years ago. We spent 2 weeks in the country and did a 5 day hike/camp through the Annapurna range. Still one of my favorite countries ever. The people were absolutely fantastic, the culture shock was second to none. I thought for a second you were joking about the Petronas BASE jump, according to google this is a yearly event?! Get outta town. Do you have any pics/vids from your jump? How was it? I've only ever been skydiving (dying to go again though) and I asked the skydiving instructors if they had ever done any BASE jumps, their reply? "No, we don't have a death wish."

Wow, thanks for checking out our site Martin. Greatly appreciated that someone would take the time out to read it. Vietnam was absolutely our favorite country that we visited, the people, the culture, the food...all 10 stars for us. Antarctica was just unbelievable, that is so so so cool that you spent time down there! My wife and I want to know if it's true that Palmer station has a hot tub? lol We heard rumors from the girls at Port Lockroy. We are stuck in a bit of a boring bit now, so not many updates but in the next 2-3 months we'll be making a drive up to Prince Edward Island and then the big, winding 6 week drive across country before reaching the west. Car has to sell first though! Really, Steve and Martin thank you again for showing interest in our blog. It means a lot to us that people care about our travels. -Ryan edit: Sean, sorry for the thread hijack!

Steve! Thanks for checking it out bud, it was awesome talking to you about it that day. Really makes me itch to go back...not that suburban NJ isn't wonderful and exciting or anything. If ya ever have any questions on Peru let us know!

Wife got me a Garmin streetpilot(?) a couple of years ago when I didn't have a car with nav. Now that I do it really just sits around gathering dust, but I will say the Garmin is a much better GPS than the factory nav from GM.

If anyone is on the fence about this event and has never been to the Glen, you absolutely have to go. The best track I have ever had the pleasure of taking my car on. The elevation changes and fast pace will keep you smiling all day long.

Pass it on to your buds! http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/CityGoat/217/IMG_2020.jpg For sale, one off 1967 Lotus 7 replica with Miata drive train – 50 miles! This is a completed, running and drivable 1967 Lotus 7 replica built by myself and WM Motorworks over the course of the last few years. The frame was a one off build from Coveland Motorsports in upstate NY based on the CMC design. This is the only known round tube frame built by Coveland, and incorporates a full roll cage. Total weight with a full tank of gas comes to 1520lbs, half the weight of a typical sports car. The drive train is a 1.8 liter Mazda Miata engine, LSD and 5 speed trans from a 1996 Miata that I purchased as a donor for this build. All of the parts not salvaged from the Miata donor are brand new, including: - Wilwood floor mounted dual reservoir brake pedal and single reservoir clutch pedal - QA1 Promastar Coilovers: 9’’ 500lb springs up front, 12’’ 300lb springs out back - Longacre switch console: On, Ignition, Fuel pump, E-Fan - Auto Meter Phantom gauges: rpm, mph, oil temp., oil pressure, water temp., fuel - Kirkey Aluminum 15’’ drag fixed back seats and Kirkey seat covers - 2009 SFI Rated G-Force 6-Point harnesses with cam-lock release - JEGS 8 gallon fuel cell with foam insert - Carbotech XP8 pads front and rear (car uses ’96 Miata brake caliper and rotors) - NRG steering wheel quick release with 320mm leather wrapped steering wheel - Color matching front Lotus badge - Moroso 94050 muffler - Kinetic Vehicles rear fenders - Britax Caterham taillights - Master kill switch mounted in rear of car - Rear mounted battery and custom battery cover -I/O Port Mirrors -I/O Port Seat Brace The paintjob was done by WM Motorworks, a shop primarily specializing in Factory Five Cobra builds, it is ‘Sassy Grass Green’ from the 1971 Plymouth Cuda. It is a matte finish, along with the matte black Lotus 7 stripe going down the car. The car has not been made street legal but it is a set of lights, bumpers and a windshield (included with sale, not installed) away from a DMV inspection to having its VIN issued. Included with sale is the Certificate of Origin to register the car and due to meticulous record keeping, all receipts surrounding the build. This 7 does need the suspension sorted through, for any questions please feel free to contact me to go over everything. In short an alignment, bump steer correction and bushing sleeve on rear LCA would have this car ready for all the fun you can throw at it. A 2009 7x12 American Hauler Nighthawk series enclosed trailer with a single axle, trailer brakes, full size spare, interior lights, and electric winch is also available for sale with the 7. If you’re going to tow around a car like this it is nice to have it covered from the elements and being an enclosed trailer, it doubles as secure storage. The trailer was just registered at the beginning of June and has less than 1000 miles under its wheels. It is with a heavy heart that I’ve decided to part ways with this 4 year long love affair, but with moving to the West Coast in the next month I will not have the time or space to keep up with ownership. Please feel free to email with any and all questions. The car is located in Scotch Plains, NJ and I would be willing to deliver the car & trailer within a reasonable distance. Please note this is not a "locost" build, there is over $20,000 invested in this build and 4 years of getting her where she is. That said I know these cars are for true enthusiasts and have a small market: - I am asking $13k without the trailer. - With the enclosed 7x12 trailer the total is $16k. Thank you. -Ryan Contact: proj217@gmail.com Driving video: http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/CityGoat/217/th_MVI_2031.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/CityGoat/217/IMG_2018.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/CityGoat/217/P9030194.jpg
