By the way, I think most LHD Caterhams of this year and back has the antiquiated multi lever hand brake not on the tranny tunnel but situated on the top of the right side foot well top and they did not flip it for LHD meaning that you needed 3 hands and a limber back for a hill start if you had a left hand drive car.

Has this car really ever passed smog in the past? This could be a huge issue to get through with this engine and carb set up, if the seller has previous smog test result sheets I would take a look and see if that would clear your current local requirements.

I must admit I have noticed my own balls drooping a bit as they get older but they still perform ok on a limited basis and as long as I do not push too hard.

But Al, we are not talking about loopholes and ways to sneak thru, I agree with you on those points. Athens brought up the way that DMV dealt with his case and quoted the state forms and steps he had to wade thru. I have read a few posts in this forum where people have bought cars and not been able to register them in certain states due to that's state draconian laws,given up and sold the cars, with yet other states where as long as you pay the money here are the title and tags. I understand there are many variables in this, not only from state to state but also often depending on the person one deals with will affect this process and was just looking for pointers in my similar prior post as is Mark with his GA questions here.

Is anything over 250 hp even really that useable for road use? Well maybe "useable" is not the right word, I was going to say "practical" but that dont work with a 7 either. How about "useless" ( not in a derogatory way to HP nuts) ,I mean that in the way of "least use" on the road; plus these engines are expensive hey and it seems a bit at odds with a 7 in my opinion. "Overkill", 15 mins later thats the word I was trying to think of, damn, getting old sucks... and in the immortal words of Cher "is not for cowards".
