Military time.....good one. An elderly couple, who had just learned how to send text messages on their mobile phones. The wife was a romantic type and the husband was more of a no-nonsense guy. One afternoon the wife went out to meet a friend for coffee. She decided to send her husband a romantic text message and she wrote: "If you are sleeping, send me your dreams. If you are laughing, send me your smile. If you are eating, send me a bite. If you are drinking, send me a sip. If you are crying, send me your tears. I love you." The husband texted back to her: "I'm on the toilet. Please advise."

You can sand the poly bushings with gentle pressure and about 100 grit. You might have to make up some jigs to support the bushing. I placed the bushing in the sleeve while sanding. I used my 10" radial arm saw with sanding disc. I was able to trim down the outer diameter of the insert as well as the outer diameter and thickness of the head. make your sand cuts very shallow and rotate the bushing by hand. there is a bit of trial and error on getting the proper diameter as when you push the bushing on the sleeve it expands slightly so do checks as you go with the sleeve removed. I used a tight fit into the boss using silicone spray as a lubricant then installed the steel sleeve. I used silicone grease as a lubricant. They don't squeak and they have been in 3 years.

Most of your auto supply, hot rod parts stores carry Energy Suspension. I switch all my bushings over to these and they are great.

Welcome to the 14 " Club Tire Rack still lists the Dunlop Direzza II in 185/60R/14. I've been looking for over a year for tires but I run 185 on front and 195 on rear, try and find matching tires for this combo. Almost ready to go to all seasons as I don't plan on getting rid of my Watanabe wheels anytime in the near future. Running Yokohama ES100 now. Just not enough demand for 14" performance in North America. I guess its time to import your own. Just be careful that the tires are DOT stamped or you could have insurance issues.

The welding on the tab doesn't appear to be tig welding, could be one of the problems.

Roman, What is the material that you used on the boot cover? -
Much easier with the header off the engine, you can really get around, hold it in a vice.

When installing the wrap soak it in water first, it will wrap tighter. Let it dry completely before painting with the special paint.

If some of your friends are that big you may not want them in the passenger seat. I sure don't want my 300# brother in my passenger seat to counter balance my 160#'s, not that he would fit anyway.

Some people just put knobs on to make it look cool, ...hey look a 6 speed.

When you look at the US Caterham Inventory
ihckb2 replied to Cranky's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Take a look at what new all included 7's sell for in Britain and do the conversion. You can bet 7's won't be cheaper in the US than there. -
Great Job on the build and a great job on keeping us all informed with your pictures and dialog. I guess I had better finish up on my 30 year restoration project on my 49 International KB2. Mind you I did have a few interruptions during those years. All the best and now you can enjoy.

Depends on what you want. Turnkey, build your own? Are you stuck on just 2 makes. Do you just want to drive and have fun, race? Buy one and make it yours? Maybe this is still available http://burnaby.allcarsincanada.com/lotus/lotus-caterham-7-8000_499400.html There have been a couple of Canadian Sevens (Fejer) for sale out here in the last year. Originally built in Ontario and there are a few owners on this site. I have one and love it.
