  1. A mounting solution I like but with mirrors that are very hard to keep adjusted. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/964831899_DSC02483.JPG It does limit the amount the side-screen can be opened. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/475061772_DSC02485.JPG and yes the car really is that dirty Ed
  2. On car's release they were using the "new" Quaife 6 speed. http://www.quaife.co.uk/Quaife-6-speed-heavy-duty-in-line-RWD-sequential-gerbox I'm not sure now but I am sure if you order one they will put anything you want in it. Ed
  3. Drenth 6 speed Sequential Gearbox http://www.drenth-gearboxes.com/ By all reports it is absolutely first class and no I'm not sure what the final price will be (but I'm sure words like "obscene" and "mad" will be used). The Lotus Seven boys are working up a bulk buy and just wanted to let you guys know. http://www.blatchat.com/t.asp?Id=155750 Ed

Blatant advert for these guys but since I'm still trying to get some people to visit Scotland with me I hope you will let it pass... Also the roads look like fun. The large furry things not so much.
  5. and the carbon front fenders and 16" stays are also about to be redundant ......
  6. Mike, I'm in the process of going to 13" so if you are interested in HPCs powder coated Black please let me know. I only have 4. The 5th met with a rock on the PNW Tour last year. If black is of interest, I'll take some pics of the four remaining. Old picture to give you an idea (thanks John). http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1336746098_hudrad1280.jpg Ed
  7. Since you have driven my car that's hard to dispute..... but after your drive I did adjust the throttle stop to take it out of "parking attendant mode". Ed
  8. Al, I have to confess I sent a picture of my car in the first e-mail. Stan (and all), They have four cars and groups trips are fun..... Ed
  9. Alaskossie, I'm planning on renting an SV from http://www.openroadhire.co.uk/ They originally only rented to UK licensed drivers but I have been pestering (begging) for the past year and their insurance company finally said "yes". Ed
  10. Andrew Still, director, of Open Road Hire has arranged with his insurance company to accept non UK licensed drivers. LOUD CHEER The pictures are stunning. http://scenicscotland.org/lochrannoch.aspx Time to start studying Scottish weather..... but as with most seven trips if you assume it is going to rain everyday you are sometimes pleasantly surprised. I'll end up taking whatever week I can get away from the job. 18. I talked to Intercity Transport following the PNW Tour and they were VERY open to discounting if we could fill a truck at one location and if there is flexibility in timing they get even happier. So best rates would be (guessing) seven or eight cars with secure parking for a few days at both ends. Central collection points in the east and the west anyone? Ed
  19. Sabine driving a GT2 vs Caterham CSR260, commentary is a little "boy racer" but fun.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D69pNk5MGYk and Richard Ince in his R500 Ed
  20. I was starting to plan a trip to Scotland a few months ago and found this: http://www.openroadhire.co.uk/ The hold up has been insurance. Form the "terms and conditions" section: The Hire Vehicle shall not be let out on hire to or driven by – Persons who do not hold a full valid British Driving Licence Andrew (owner) is looking into insurance options but if any of you guys think you might be interested please send him an e-mail. I'm trying to convince him I'm not the only non-Brit that would love to have a Seven on holiday. Thanks. Ed
