  1. Ssssssssswwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeett !!!!!!!!!
  2. I have been running Hoosier R6 this year and am very pleased I have used them in 7 practice sessions 4 qualifying sessions and 4 races. They still have a lot of life in them and I adjust the pressures to the track. Using a laser pyrometer across the tread gives me an idea of how much pressure to put in each one. I understand you are from Denver. Too bad. Was hoping to see another Caterham on the Northeast area. Just returned from a National Race at Lime Rock Park. First time in this car at this track. Super Hot. Track was Super Greasy. Finished Third. BUT I HAD A FREAKING BLAST! Good Luck to you and your racing
  3. Sweet Get the most out of everything. You got more than the most
  4. No the Simpson Daimondback is the Stig's helmet of choice!
  5. Got a Cheap head? Get a Cheap Helmet. Every one has their own prefrences but I have a Simpson Diamonback and a Bell K1. The Diamondback is a great helmet if your seating position is upright. The K1 is better if your seat is raked and you need more vision in the lower sight range.
  6. Just an update on Lime Rock. My Co owner and racer spent this last weekend at the Rock and had a great time. Even in one Rainy session. He was cautious at the uphill and always made sure of the steering being straight and he even lifted at the breakover to prevent any loss of control. Brian was coming off of a BIG Off at Watkins Glen last fall and was being careful. He had a blast! Says the car is Fantastic! I am Based in Johnstown, NY and, even though I am the local Dodge,Chrysler,Jeep dealer, We have a Caterham. The Caterham is so similar in driving dynamics to a Skip Barber Formula car, I just had to be a part of it. Well. On to the Next adventure. Lime Rock National Race on June 22-23. I hope to have a great time and bring everything home in one piece. George
  7. Thanks for the welcome. I am a "Walter Mitty" driver who always wanted to be a racing driver. But, you know the reasons; work, family, $$$$$(or lack therof) mortgage, ridicule by others, skiing, golf, yadda yadda yadda.............. never took the plunge. So finally, after the kids got into ....and out of college. I went to Skip Barber and learned the "craft" of driving. And I do mean craft. It was like the difference between learning to ski without and instructor, and with an instructor. You can only get so far without one. Raced in their series when I could afford to. (About 2 times per year) and finally went in with a friend on this Caterham. He is at Lime Rock with the car as we speak. Every time we unload this car.... People come over and want to talk about it. Forget match.com guys. Just put the caterham in front of the bar and everyone will want to see who has this car. Everyone has a story. Everybody smiles. But I would also like to meet you guys. Our car is a little beat up, like most race cars. A true race car is nothing more than a tool to be abused in pursuit of a podium. Although we are not podium regulars, we are thrashing this car. It was origionally brought into the country as a racing car, and went to the Nationals. While it will never win a concours..... We love it anyway. Seeeeee Yaaaaa George
  8. Hi Guys This is an early post for me. But I am a Caterham Race car owner and Driver. We compete in the SCCA's E Prepared Division. Two weeks ago I took the car to Watkins Glen Double Weekend. I had never driven this car in Anger before (just a couple of solo events) and MAN! This car is a freakin' BLAST to drive. I was Put in a group of cars that included other E Prepared cars..... The Caterham just blew them away! I then concentrated on the GT cars in my class and passed 12 of them on my way to a 5th overall position. There was no way I was going to catch the Trans Am prepared Corvettes and Mustang (one had a DEI, 675hp, Corvette race engine and tube frame) But I was having a lovely dice with a Camaro at the end of the "long course" race. The "short course" was a little easier on the Big engined cars and I was only able to finish 7th. I have been reading about this track day and wish you guys the best. I was tempted to drive down, but I will be at Lime Rock the weekend before and I will be Racing the Caterham in a national Race. I will keep this group in mind in the future for track events. Although our car is a little under powered because we ar limited to our Ztec 4 cyl engine and 13" tires, as per SCCA. Hope you have good weather and a fun time. George
