slngsht Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Since I have no weather gear, it's pretty much guaranteed we'll hit rain on the way. So, here comes the tarp :nonod: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/598013247_CIMG1640 (Small).JPG I test drove the trailer and car this morning (for the first time), and it's totally stable at speed. I'll do one more drive to make sure the tarp is adequately secured.
Boxologist Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 bungee or lash it underneath the rotus if u haven't.
slngsht Posted July 4, 2007 Author Posted July 4, 2007 bungee or lash it underneath the rotus if u haven't. I't bungeed under the front, under the rear, over the font of the hood, and over the front of the windshield. Didn't use any duct tape though
WestTexasS2K Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 I would worry more about the tarp wearing the paint as if flaps more than I would worry about it getting wet. I have seen tarps like that wear to bare metal in very little time.
stevet Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 You need one of these to hold it down (this 10 mins ago with Al's seven in my driveway)... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/339694641_belle on minty.JPG
slngsht Posted July 4, 2007 Author Posted July 4, 2007 It's raining cats and dogs here right now. Looks like you're only getting cats there

Boxologist Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 my oldest cat does that way too often. and he only once jumped into the 7.
slomove Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Nooooooo, I did that on a 350 mile trip up to Infineon a few years ago (with a silver tarp if that makes a difference). I thought I had bunjeed it down well but when I arrived the wind motion of the tarp had polished a pretty leopard pattern into the bare aluminum. That was removed with a few hours worth of elbow grease but I don't know what it might do to paint. It actually took off the chrome on some spots of the headlight pods. Anyway, be careful.... Gert Got you covered mang... The bare aluminum hood has a nice beech towel securely over it. As for the paint - well if it takes any off, it's done me a huge favor  Those who have seen my car know what I'm talking about. I worked on the mechanicals last year. I'll work on the cosmetics this off season. How's your trip?
