The list of parts to rebuild my twin cam is complete and the order is in Ouch!

Almost $4400. US + shipping.

This does include new electronic alternator, gear reduction starter, Pertronix and electric fuel pump. But does not include machine shop charges or service garage charges for engine re & re.

It's going to be a while before she's complete as some parts like pistons were special order.

Hopefully she will be reliable and I can take part in some of the long distance runs.

All the more reason to use an over the counter production engine in the first place. That's got to hurt to have to pay out that much for a re-build. What engine is it?

I have to give you credit for keeping the faith with the Lotus engine.

I seem to have good luck putting metal bits thru the side of the block at times and a relatively inexpensive stock engine is the only way to keep my wife off my back.

I almost thank the SCCA for only allowing us one engine(ford ZETEC) for racing. The last time I had to rebuild the bottom end, the shop manager was sooooooooooo disappointed that I wanted it dead stock instead of some exotic stuff that would give me more power, but less durability.

I will swap you! I just got a quote for a replacement engine for my 1975 BMW CSL of $55K for the correct IMSA race spec. :ack:

Give me a twink anyday!

That is an ouch, I spoke with a guy 3 years ago who owns a Lotus Cortina he races and his 195hp twink left him with little change from $25000 and I thought that was rich.
