coffee break
I was out this morning and the throttle got hung. Fortunately I was on a un-busy road. I put in the clutch and it rev'ed to about 4K, shut it down and coasted to a safe location. The additional throttle return spring hooked over the fuel line broke at the top and inhibited the function of the original return spring. I was able to remove the broken part and the cable back to proper function. This was done before the car came into my hands. Any guess for it being there in the first place? DeanG
Double return springs are needed for some track events.
scannon
Some track and/or race sanctioning bodies require two throttle return springs on the linkage. Or maybe the PO liked a stiffer than normal feel for the throttle.
