Alum replacement radiators, & PGMI

I just purchased an '85 Caterham from the original owner. Its a nice piece, but is in need of a little love. Its warm where I live so I'd like to update it to an aluminum radiator with a reliable electric fan. Has anyone done this sort of thing and who did you go through. I bought a radiator from Ron Davis in Arizona for a motorcycle I built, and while it is a nice piece, it was still $600.

And while we're at it, has anyone replaced Webers with Programed Fuel Injection? Or, is that blasphemy for evening thinking about it?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated, Kurt

Almost everyone over on the LocostUSA group is running the ebay dual row aluminum '92-'00 Civic radiators. It doesn't seem to make a difference which seller. I haven't seen one dissatisfied customer. We are cooling I-4's, V6's and I think there might even be a V8 in the mix. It does a wonderful job cooling my rotary-engined Locost. For ~ $75, you can get a radiator and a 14" electric fan. Can't beat the price and based on many satisfied builders, the performance is virtually guaranteed. Many of the package deals include a 12" fan. I bought the fan and radiator separately. Save your $525 for some other improvements. SInce we get to build our own radiator mounts, I have no idea how it might fit in a Caterham.

I've thought about TBI, but that's about it. I'm not sure how much improvement I'd get for the $$$$. You could find a tuner with a chassis dyno to dial-in the TBIs. I found a guy that's good with Webbers. I'd rather drive than tinker.

Hi,

Where are you located?

I have replaced the radiator, added fuel injection and changed the steering rack on my long cockpit, big tube, BD chassis Cat of the same era.

Call me to discuss,
