Richard Hoffman
If you live reasonably close to Houston and are a Birkin, Lotus 7 or Caterham 7 owner, please share your contact with me. I am in the early stages of my Birkin S3 build and could use some local build advice now and then. Also, would like to know of area outlets for track days, gatherings and other events. wemtd
Richard Welcome the insanity! The yahoo Birkinowners group and USA7s are good references and places to ask for help Which 7 version do you have?
Cranky
I'm up in The Woodlands with an S3 Caterham. I didn't build it, though, so I can't offer much build advice. There is an active Houston area Lotus group - LOST (Lotus Owners of South Texas?). I think they'd welcome a Birkin owner. There was a storker at the last event I attended. I think xcarguy is the most active member of this site in the Houston area, but I think he's moving soon (if he hasn't already). I think pksurveyor is the head of LOST and is a super nice guy. pksurveyor
There are about 15 Seven in the Houston area. A couple of the Caterham owners are very mechanical inclined and knowledgeable on the bits and pieces of the little cars. Lotus Owners of South Texas has a monthly meeting this Saturday 11 am 4/16/16 at Phoenix on Westheimer. http://phoenixow.com/, Join their Facebook and Yahoo site for information. https://www.facebook.com/groups/118370430602/, https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/lotus_ownerssouthtexas/info. James A
Richard, as Paul says there is an active 7 crowd in Houston including at least 6 people who race them in SCCA and a far larger group that does regular track days. I am in The Woodlands and have an E Production race car and street legal autocross car. I built the street legal car from scratch and have rebuilt the race car twice, completely rebuilt it including the engine.
Richard Hoffman
Thanks for the replies. Mine is the SS3XS. I am building it up as a street car with a little track day use.

Sean
Can anyone describe the process for registering a new built 7 in Texas? Searching this site using the terms "register" and Texas" yielded this thread: http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?10361-Texas-street-registation SEMA's SEMA Action Network (SAN) pages contains a page with a PDF file for each state's titling and registration requirements: http://www.semasan.com/page.asp?content=tag_title_toolbox&g=SEMAGA QUALIFIER: I have never registered any car of any kind in Texas myself.
