slngsht Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Robert O. Urfer stopped by to pick up my old BBS wheels and RA1 tires, and go for a joy ride in frankn7  If any forum member stops by my house, there is an obligatory picture http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1695743674_CIMG1703.JPG
soareyes Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Nice skid pad you have in front of your house! How many g's you pull?
Al N. Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Did Robert O have the same reaction (pure joy) that Jon C. did?
slngsht Posted July 20, 2007 Author Posted July 20, 2007 I couldn't show him the full effect around here. No suitable roads. Jon C.'s reaction was priceless.
slngsht Posted July 21, 2007 Author Posted July 21, 2007 just wheels and tires... I still have Aarms, spindles, rear discs, new pads.
solder_guy Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 just wheels and tires... I still have Aarms, spindles, rear discs, new pads. He didn't get the rear discs rear end? Why not? Rob
MHKflyer52 Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Maybe you should let your neighbor drive Franklin 7 around that nice skid pad...It even has a bench for spectators and shade....how cool is that.
Robert O. Urfer Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 The trip to Maryland was worth every minute just to have a ride in Mazda's car. Plus a great deal on some parts. He gave me a great ride.:hurray: All I could say was wow and thank you. I equate it to as much fun as skydiving except on four wheels. Scary fast:eek: I can't thank Mazda enough for the ride and the great deal on parts. As for why I did not pick up the rear axle. I decided if I am going to upgrade i should have a limited slip so I am holding out. I also stopped at Dennis Hedges place on the way down. What a beautiful setting. It reminded me of a plce I went in England that was actually a chop shop for Ford Sierra Cosworths. It took me 18 hours round trip with a few stops but the trip was great. I now have my wheels mounted and will mount my cycle fenders this week. The new wheels look great and fill out the car much better than my old skinny 14x6 wheels did. Thanks again  Robert
slngsht Posted July 23, 2007 Author Posted July 23, 2007 glad it worked out. you will LOVE the RA-1s... they are great tires.
solder_guy Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 I also stopped at Dennis Hedges place on the way down. How was your visit to Dennis Hedges' Short Mountain Enterprises shop? Did you buy the hood latches that he has for sale? Rob
Robert O. Urfer Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Dennis was very nice. i did not stick around long. I asked him about the latches he sells and he said they would not fit my application. I suggest we go through the U.K. and get those. i was kind of time crunched so i could not hang out at Dennis's and see all he had in his garage. i can say what a beautiful peaceful place to live and work on cars. i would like to retire to place like that:cheers:
