oilteq Posted June 28, 2019 Share Posted June 28, 2019 I am surprised nobody suggested disconnecting the sway bars prior to putting the car on the scales. Also, ramps are preferable. If you jack the car up and put the scales under it, you do not get repeatable readings. Driving a short distance between adjustments helps settle the suspension for a more accurate reading. They are designed to transfer weight laterally, so yep. I use a setup with 8 bathroom scales, two at each wheel, and a length of 2x12 that that wheels sit on.
