Croc Posted October 24, 2016 Share Posted October 24, 2016 If it were that historic I would expect it to come up on the L7C UK site as been featured somewhere in LowFlying or other Blatchat inquiry. I only found reference that the former owner was an L7C member. There is an archivist facility at Caterham for inquiries like this. Records are sparse but they should have worked out their first car. I dont think it was their first car as I thought they took over S4 production and then after the parts quickly ran out they reverted to the S3 body. I dont have access to my reference books on this but going from memory maybe they are trying to infer it is the first true Caterham in the traditional body style? The H&H auction in 2014 that sold this car has none of the claims this more recent ad does. Just says it was an early Caterham. And that is probably the right answer. Still it does look nice. I don't remember ever seeing one with the side panel done that way.(patched)the small skinny tires don't go to well with what looks to be later wider fenders? overall the pictures do show a clean well prepared car .if you decide to buy it ,I hope you can get a close look at it first. bill c. I've bought my last "sight-unseen" car for this lifetime LOL i'd question that right side on this car. was it hit and repaired poorly.
