lotsats Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 I found this picture while looking at some SCCA race results from 1962. Do you think I can use an “authentic” roll bar like this on my Lotus 7 vintage racer?
coffee break Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 As long as you use those skinny tires :smilielol5:
lotsats Posted September 16, 2019 Author Posted September 16, 2019 I found this picture while looking at some SCCA race results from 1962. Do you think I can use an “authentic” roll bar like this on my Lotus 7 vintage racer? Skinny tires!!!!! I ain’t gonna’ use no stinkin’ SKINNY TIRES!!!!! Hmmmmm————- unless I want to relive my lost youth and turn it into a DRIFT CAR????????? Actually, I’m not sure I can actually buy skinny tires.
TheDingo8MyBaby Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 I still use skinny bias ply tires. You guys don't know what you're missing out on. Derek Hill's Seven (His first race car) is probably my favorite. There are guys today that still run less substantial roll bars.
Conforti Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Fantastic pics, TheDingo. That Derek Hill's Seven looks like a beast.
Colorado7er Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Derek Hill's Seven (His first race car) is probably my favorite. Derek Hill is around our age, Geoff! I think he'd be about negative 11 in that pic. Derek Bell on the other hand... and that does look like Goodwood ca. 1964...
TheDingo8MyBaby Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Thanks, Josh. Derek Bell is certainly who I meant.
