scannon
LOG27 is underway. Looks to be about 200 Lotus and Lotus type cars here. There were 15 Se7ens in the concours, mostly original 7s and Caterhams. There was also a Birkin and a Donkervordt (sp?). Keith showed up during the show with the Flyin Miata Westfield. I took the pedal box cover to the autograph session and Emmo, Alain deCadinet and Peter Darley each signed one side of it. Next time I run into Peter Egan, he has promised to sign it as well. I have lots of pictures but no way to interface my camera with the hotel computer so I will post them in a week or so when I get home.

Keith
What Skip didn't mention is that his Miata-engined turbo Caterham (oooo, the sacrilege!) won "best in class" at the Concours! As Skip mentioned, I was there. But I was undercover, posing as a Westfield passenger...
scannon
Anyone from 777 or the forum out there with you Skip? There was a couple there but I met so many people that I cannot recall who they were. I do remember seeing the 777 t-shirt at the event. I did get John Egan to sign the pedal box. We chatted about his drive of the FM Westfield. He was very positive about the car. I'm told there will be pictures and a writeup as a sidebar to his coverage of the LOG27. I offered to let him drive my car on the track or go for a ride with me but he politely refused. I got a ride in the 2-11 with Nick Adams driving on the Aspen track. Great fun, if I had a spare $80k... It was a great weekend, I had a fantastic time. However, it was cold and damp at the track day and I woke up with a sore throat this AM. I'm glad it held off until the event was over.

scannon
I finally got around to taking some pictures of the signed pedal box cover from LOG27. Emmo & Peter Egan http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/963432091_Emmo Pedal Box 004.jpg Alain de Cadinet http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/65168219_Emmo Pedal Box 002.jpg Peter Darley http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/521222975_Emmo Pedal Box 003.jpg Any suggestions on what to use to preserve these signatures? They were signed with a sharpie type marker with permanent ink.

scannon
www.invisiblemask.com - my be a solution to protect signaturesDo you think it would stand up to the underhood temps generated by a turbo and downpipe about one foot in front of it? drew...
I have a "carbon fiber" decal material over my pedal box which stands up well - but I'm not running a turbo. Could you try it somewhere closer to the turbo to see if it holds up? Another thought - how do you insulate the painted surfaces around the turbo? If the paint holds up I would think this material would also.
Boxologist
www.invisiblemask.com - my be a solution to protect signatures yup, any 3m clearbra or laminex film. taking heat that close to a turbo, i can't say http://rockblocker.com/3m.htm some heat data, but nowhere near ur expected levels. scannon
Another thought - how do you insulate the painted surfaces around the turbo? If the paint holds up I would think this material would also. The exhaust manifold and downpipe are painted with oven cured 1,500F paint, they are holding up well. The only other paint in the area is the frame tubes and I believe they are powdercoated. The louvers in the bonnet have kept the heat from affecting its paint. I put foil/foam insulation on the footwell and the heat quickly delaminated the foil from the foam although the foam seems to be handling the heat quite well.
