coffee break
The Facet 574A electronic fuel pump stopped working when I was out for a local drive on Memorial Day. I suspect the pump is original to the assembly of the car in 1997. I am the fourth owner and got the car with about 5600 miles, it's around 11,000 miles now. After recovering the car and it cooled off it did start, but it is time for a replacement pump. To look for a replacement I am not sure how much fuel flow and pressure I need to feed the 2 Webers DCOE40's, also there is a Purolator #53 fuel flow regulator between the pump and the carbs. One other factor to mention, sometimes when doing WOT acceleration from a standing start the motor stumbles around 4500 in second gear. I'm guessing fuel starvation. Let me know what my options are. bball7754
The Webers are low pressure, 3-3.5 psi. More pressure overwhelms the floats. I’m confident the Facet is higher than that, hence fuel regulator. Do they still make that model? Any reason not to just get the same? Steve
MV8
Check your filter between the regulator and the carbs. Those regulators are a pre-ethanol design and may break down using today's fuels. Otherwise, a replacement facet 574a is available as a box or cylinder pump. You could fit a gerotor that doesn't require a regulator.
