I have the R&T collections of his columns and articles.  I can only recall three on the Seven.  The first is linked above.  The next was on the ghosts in the machine that can be lost by too thorough a rebuilt — ie: if everything is new, it isn’t old any more.  The last was after people wrote in concerned that he wasn’t going to strip and properly reinforce the CBU before racing.  He assured everyone he actually did.

I'm pretty sure he had a R&T feature about getting his vintage Lotus 7 racecar ready for the Monterey Historics sometime in the 90's. I remember something about the officials not liking that he had a dry sump oil system but they let him run anyway. I'll see if I can locate it this evening.

The feature I was thinking of is in the Feb 1992 edition, so probably not what you were looking for. It's called "The Monterey Weekend - Track Time - Getting there is half the fun, or maybe a little less". It's his story of what was required to get his Lotus Seven finished and make the trip out to Monterey for the vintage races.  Considering his car was just a bare frame on saw horses and he only had eight weeks to get it ready was pretty impressive!
