anthony1956
Thanks chaps - I am at present heavily in to Ford Cosworth BDA/BDR 711M Block (Kent) Lucas 43D4 distributor mechanical advance timing, Dellorto DHLA 45C carbs tuning and the balance between keeping the 1987 Caterham BDR car of its era versus using modern tech to give me engine data for tuning especially at WOT Wide Open Throttle. Current data capture gadgets under consideration being the Aldon Auto Amethyst (ordered but supply may be now be extinct) and https://www.accuspark.co.uk/Blackbox.html (rejected for now because far more complex than I want ordered one anyway today). Pertronix ignitor and coil in use, old points kept aside. My R500K is running perfectly so nothing much of interest there :-) Edited November 5 by anthony1956
Croc
Welcome to USA 7s Anthony! You and I have interacted on C&L7C Blatchat over the years as I am also a long term member there. You have a lovely part of the world to enjoy a Caterham in. Where in Switzerland are you? I get to Geneva and Zurich a few times a year for work plus have family just south of Geneva.
anthony1956
Hi Mike, I wondered who might be over here as well as over there :-) I'm near Chamonix, France, just across the border in CH. Cham is about an hour from Geneve if you fancy a pleasant day (or two!) out. My BDR adventure continues if you've seen that at all, AMETHYST prep @IamScotticus https://cosworth.bdr.supersevenheaven.com/241105-amethyst-install-preparation being today's development. Can't win! Anyway nice to be here amongst more Seveners. oh yes, it's tough here, I live between two Alpine passes so whichever way I go I have to do one ;-) rgds anthony Edited November 5 by anthony1956
Carz01
Anthony, Welcome to the fun! I’m finding your blog and 1700 BDR info very interesting. I have a very early 1600 BDR, and there’s a couple more on the site I believe. Enjoy!

Family is in Annecy/Ugine - so only an hour away from you on backroads. I know the area well. Will be there in late November. Lets see if I can carve out some time to swing by in person.

Yes a couple of constant helpers keep on eye on me :-) oldandrewe and gridgway and come to think of it a couple of others.. but Dellorto carbs are very few and far between, in fact that's one of my reasons for joining you all here, to see if there are any or many carb tuners so to speak. Not forgetting James who often chimes in.. not sure if he's here. @croc so you know my playground :-) Edited November 6 by anthony1956
anthony1956
Interesting new world you all will be waking to today. I'm exploring where to put my BDR blogs because on the UK Club site i lose control over the text after a time - meaning I can't fix my many mistakes which isn't good for later readers or for myself when I refer back in the future - which is really why I write them, as well as hoping for help, which I can ask for in the usual chat forum. At the momnet I am trying Medium.com using "friend links" to make sure everyone has access. Ideas very welcome. -

I wanted to say very rare but that won't do. Might you be able to assist me? Regards Anthony Edited November 10 by anthony1956
