Croc Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 It would have been done last year with the repave, however, they ran out of time (or forgot - depending on who you talk to) to get the NJ EPA to approve the modifications to the site for drainage. I think they were required to add a new drainage pond and that type of earth moving is expensive and time consuming. I have not heard if it is definitely going to be done over the 24/25 winter but the impetus for the change was from NASCAR (for ARCA series) as they thought it would suit the cars better. The Octopus section was always a contrived corner. This should make the overall circuit flow better. It will reduce top speed down the straight to Turn 1 as the straight effectively began where you exit the Octopus - I don't lift throttle from there until braking at Turn 1.
