The guys that run in those races are NUTS. You should see the videos. Check out Norwegian Formula Offroad on youtube for some vids. They drive straight up the sides of these big hills of volcanic ash. Often flipping over backwards and tumbling all the way down.

I cut the pic out of a magazine years ago. As I recall, the car was modified by a realtor who specialized in beach front properties - cool idea or completely stupid - I never can quite decide. I found the magazine in Australia, but the car might be in Hawaii...

 

I suspect RR were not amused.
