Hello all - new to 7 ownership as of a few months ago when I lucked into my new-to-me '99 Birkin S3 Carbon Black Edition.  It had some issues that I have been sorting out but it runs great and is so much fun to drive.  Working on a few more upgrades and it should be ready as soon as the gross winter weather moves on and our roads are drive-able again.   Always like 7s but never really wanted one.  That is until one of your members insisted I drive his.  I blame him...LOL

You have seen some of my "other cars" so here is my 7 (yes...it already is sporting some new aero bits) and my garage is also a designated disaster zone:

Wow! She's pretty. Looks like you've found an excellent car on which to bestow all your disposable income. Improving this and repairing that will also keep you out of dive bars on weekends. Congratulations.

Thanks!  It was a lucky find through a friend of a friend.  I have fixed/upgraded most of what was wrong with it over the past few months.  Compared to the cars I typically work on, this has be a bit more economical but, it has consumed much of my very limited quantity of free time!  Should have it fully sorted by spring.  Then its time to figure out how to make some power out of that little 2.0 L Zetec engine!

Also, it would be really helpful to have tiny hands to work on this....which I do not.  LOL

Interesting build.  Spare tire and tonneau cover, but also 4-point harness.  I love it

Thanks!  I bought it for mostly fun times on the street but may Autox it a bit.  if I do, the spare tire and mounting bracket will stay in the garage.   Not being used to something this small, I kinda like having the steel spare tire bracket and the wheel/tire between me and whoever is behind me!!!

Small? Yeah. File down your fingernails on the pavement while driving. North Florida is the land of the Ford 5-150, and the top of my windscreen is five inches below the window sill thereof. Be very careful to stay out of blind spots.

If your car doesn't have a third brake light added to the top of the roll bar, I strongly suggest adding one. There are several options available, including one produced by @das76 which has great reviews here and on BlatChat.

Another worthwhile addition is a flashing module that will quickly flash the brakes upon initial application. I've used a few different brands in my cars and prefer to wire the module only to the third brake light. It's the optimal location for attention, and should the module ever fail, the other brake lights will still work. I have the Signal Dynamics Back Off on the Caterham, but am using this module on the Elise, which I prefer. Lots of programming options, very small form factor, and inexpensive. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BN983DCS?

Agree 100%.  Fortunately it has a super bright LED strip across the horizontal portion of the roll bar.  Almost hurts to look directly at it!  Looks amber in this photo but it turns bright red when you are on the brake.

You are inspiring me to add something similar to my 1962 Series 2. I hate that run-down feeling.

it would be time and $$ well spent IMO!  My eyes are glued to the mirrors when I am at a light so being more visible can never hurt!
