IE crashed at worked so I lost the first write up. should some of my runs up by then of the week. My first event with them.

the lot, search for Tobay Beach Park, NY. i am playing with google maps to get a sketch of the course done.

Weather was clear and low forties leaving the house and by lunch time it had broken into teh low 50s. clouds crept in for the afternoon runs.

The ran differently, and differently may be responisble for getiing 10, yes TEN runs on a 50-60 second course. non marque makes were separated by displacement (X1 3.5L, no FI or tyre penalties), then to run the heats they seperated ALL cars by number, odd/even, then low/high numbers would get all their runs in before the rest of the batch would grid.

FTD was a track prepped 914. second fastest was battle between of past codrivers of mine( SM2 FM Miata swap vs mkII MR2 jdm BEAMS swap) clocking in teh 52s. I was able to get a 55.5. several runs had me spinning. I was able to save a huge slide in a nice tunnel of 8 cones on each side which was a 180 turn from a long straightaway which nearly everyone was the 2nd gear rev limiter.

Jon:

When are you going to get some Hoosiers and kick butt? Even a nice set of shaved Toyo RA1's would cut 2 seconds off your times and they last forever (tho are useless in the rain).

mazda and i are on board to give the r888 a try come next spring. he'll get his 17" and 18" sizes(or dubs if Arya puts a nice anodizing on the cage :) ) i will be grabbing a set of 15" for my prisoner wheels to compete in SCCA and PCA events. I will continue to use the street tyres for the BMW series keep learning on. i may keep the streets on for the first few events if i have a co-driver.

i like the r888 because they seem to be able to do regular driving duty, sans rain, for lighter cars from what the Blatchat posters indicate, so i won't have to hustle for a trailer or have someone else drive down with them. when i go to the hoosiers, i will be on 13s. started looking into Kodiaks after reading that the Barnby r500 wheels had seperation issues in the Caterham competiton events a few years back. adn dollar is worthless against a foreign currency.

Please, the more i think about it, i don't beleive i have a lightened flywheel. :banghead:

next season will be plenty of fun.

Jon, I'm disappointed in you. Only 5 spins? :cuss: I don't think you should move up to slicks, as it is alot harder to spin, and you'll just not have as much fun, with lower times. Tom
