S1Steve Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 Merry Christmas Eve Morning, I would like to ask our Brothers up North, #1- When are YOU going to make a Holiday for my all time favorite driver, The late ,great Gilles Villeneuve, I meet him at the Grand Prix in Watkins Glen in 1977. A fine Canadan gentelman.http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1933094245_gilles 003.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/193649830_gilles 002.jpg
ptrxly Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 By coincidence, I am wearing my Gilles Villeneuve golf shirt right now. I picked it up a few years ago at the Gilles Villeneuve museum in Berthierville Quebec. 'Worth a visit if you are ever up in that area. -Nice model. Peter
BusaLoco Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 I bet if he were a member of this forum he'd be allowed to post in French. :leaving:
S1Steve Posted December 24, 2007 Author Posted December 24, 2007 Peter, I am trying to find the Gilles Villeneuve Museum web-site , an I am not having any luck. Can you help me out. I would like to add a new shirt to the closet. Glad you like the model, EXOTO,Ferrari 312 t4/t5 1:18 , I have a enough models to fill the grid. And I have my date wrong for Watkins Glen, it's 1979. WET, COLD, FUN !!!!!! Steve:
BusaLoco Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 It's probably because your searching in English. :leaving: Try googling it with "musée de villeneuve gilles" and you come up with this
ayseven Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 Does anybody want his autograph, obtained by yours truly at the 1978 British GP at Brands? I should go check that Museum out one of these days. I have to talk my wife out of going to Jacques' restaurant every time we're in Montreal; maybe I could make a deal with her.
SR27.Seth Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 I named our car in honour of him- hence the 27 of SR27, though number 12 had more wins and therefore was more famous- What was the last car he drove in which we saw his untimely demise? #27.
S1Steve Posted December 24, 2007 Author Posted December 24, 2007 Thanks for the web-site. Glad that you used the #27 for your car, good choice. When I was running my FF and my Mini, there was only one number that I would use. I just wish I had half the talent that the number deserves !!!! Another Museum that I can put on my " Go To" list, First is Donnington ! And I if I remain a good boy :blueangel: that will happen this summer.
Ian7 Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 "I have to talk my wife out of going to Jacques' restaurant every time we're in Montreal" Won't name-drop on this, but VERY close connections tell me that Jacques has sold the restaurant... Haven't been by in a few weeks though, so can't confirm if its a visible change yet.
shiva Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 He has sold it. Baton rouge restaurant actually bought the place. It's a rib and steak kinda of place. Don't know when the move will be made, but it's been confirmed by many. Crescent avenue won`t be was it used to be with the GrandPrix gone.
slngsht Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 not sure how this ended up in General Sevens Discussions. Moving to Off Topic.
Hank Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Baton rouge restaurant actually bought the place. It's a rib and steak kinda of place. As in Baton Rouge, Louisiana? Which restaurant? I live there.
shiva Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 As in Baton Rouge, Louisiana? Which restaurant? I live there. Don't think they are related. Baton Rouge is a rib and steak restaurant chain in Quebec. Nothing special about it really. It's a mid-range restaurant type as in it make middle class people think they are in a rich restaurant!
