At least one other USA7 member can attest to this. What many of them don't realize is that there is a definite method to this technique. Once one is trained in it's various idiosyncrasies, work flow is streamlined to levels that will never be experienced by the average "everything-in-it's-place" mechanic. Now, where's that set of mole grips... I used to own a shop many years ago. I would always be looking for a pen around the shop. One day I got fed up and went and spent $10 at Walmart and flooded the shop with pens... everytime I wanted one, I would just pick it from the new box. Some have no dust, no dirt and no debris in all the nooks and crannies of the engine bay. When I look at my Seven there is dust, a little oily residue, dead insects etc. all over the place, only to be removed with a pressure washer once a while. Different strokes for different blokes, as they say. I've only washed mine once when it got muddy, the rest of the time it is the California duster or some Final Inspection. athens7 Posted January 7, 2008 Share Posted January 7, 2008 My car's only got 1800 miles on it, and it is garaged and covered, and only driven in the rain once. Other than a wipe down of the body after every drive, I've not had the car cleaned since I bought it. I'm not much of a fan of pressure washing, fearing damage to the electrics, but I expect some compressed air now and then can get rid of some of the debris in the chassis.
