Sorry about the extra BS at the end, I don't have any video editing software. Its also is a good idea to turn down your sound as there isn't a wind filter on the microphone.

Thanks Steve, it is quick and fun.

This was a Miata club event although there were 2 Elises, Flyin Miata's turbo Miata powered Westfield, Subaru STi, supercharged Mustang and a few other non Miatas.

There were 19 cars on a 2.2 mile, 10 turn road couse. You rarely have to deal with other cars. Passing is allowed only on the straights with a wave by.

The great thing about these Miata club track days is we split the rental of the track ($116 each this time) and we don't have run groups or corner workers. You can get 8 hours of seat time if you can stand it.

How did your car compare to Flyin Miata's Westie? Their site says they were top dog. They are also running turbo Miata power and both Bill and Keith are experienced drivers.

Bill and Keith are much more experienced drivers than I am. The only time my car and the Westie were on the same part of the track at the same time was late in the day and my car was suffering massive knock from the crap gas I bought in Pueblo. I had pulled 4 degrees of timing across the board and was still getting knock and the engine was getting hot. Top speed at the end of the straight had dropped from 130 to 110 so my car wasn't performing well.

Bill came up behind me and I waved him by, then followed him for a couple of laps. He was slowly pulling away on the straights at that point. Early in the day it would have been much different. He has water injection and no intercooler and was adding timing during the day while I was removing it.

Because of the problems with the knock and crap gas, I have ordered a Hydra ECU and a Hydramist water/methonal injection system. Should solve those problems and gain me a few more ponies. :D

We will be running timed laps this summer at the Flyin Miata open house, we will find out who is top dog at that time.

BTW, Keith is not running a turbo on his Locost at this time. He brought the Targa Miata to this event.

Driver skill is a huge factor. But you can always challenge them with your "straight line driving skill":).

My Caterham has a top speed of 105 mph which, between the noise, wind, proximity of the asphalt, etc., I find to be pretty exciting. I can not imagine 130 mph!

I totally agree with you on the driver skill. No matter how fast you are, there will be someone out there who can step into your car and shave off seconds per lap.

I'm reasonably sure my car would be faster in a drag race, but drag racing isn't where I am at, its those lefts and rights that get my adrenaline flowing.

My car is very stable at 130 mph, doesn't seem to float or wander so maybe those whiskers and the chin spoiler are doing their job. I have Brooklands windscreens coming which should help out with the top speeds.

Nice vid! Car looks quite stable indeed.

I see that Pueblo finally has itself some proper FIA curbing stripes. They color-match your car, to boot!

Has PMI finished reconfiguring the entry to Turn 10 yet? Hard to tell for sure in the video...

No, the inner half of turn 10 is still cone zone city. Supposedly they are working on it this week and next. They are also reworking turn 9.

130 would put me about 200 mili seconds short of shifting into 5th.

P.S. Even with prodding from Mazda I've never been faster than that!

 Honestly, I don't think I've gone past 100 in Frankn7 yet, and that would've been on a VERY short spurt. My speedo has a peg marker, so I'm pretty sure this is true. Maybe later this year at a track somewhere...

It's not a speed that I would want to say at. The wind makes it intense.:)
