I will miss the classic look

of the round chrome headlights, but I'm upgrading to PIAA 4000 combination lights.

I ordered them yesterday, and to my surprise, the mod fairy had dropped them off when I got home http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/hurray.gif

They're mounted now, but I still have to wire them in. All I can say is I lit them up in the garage, and they make my old lights look very faint.

Here's a pic of the lens. On mine, the main projectors aren't so blue and yellow... both are clear.

Here's a poor pic of one test fitted to my car. Fenders are gone for the moment. I hear the mod fairy will be stopping by again this week with some aluminum cycle fenders http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/yesnod.gif The brackets will be cut short, and the side markers (which nobody could see) will be eliminated, since the new lights are 4 in 1.

looking more like an anorexic Prowler with the PIAA lights http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/wink5.gif

I can see the prowler connection for sure. I think I'll be happy with the way they look in the front. What I miss with the chrome round lights is what you see from the driver view.

Mazda - Are you planning to lead some late night assaults on the Dragon next July? Uhm..count me in.-Al

hmmmm. Hadn't thought of it. Worth looking into to see what the locals say.

We may not need big lights down there, because the corners are close together, and we can't bend the light http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif

Wiring is done, lights are mounted. Night vision is much better now. I still have to powdercoat the old brackets.

Some pics of everything off, parking lamps, lows and highs...

Rob, when I got the car, the lights were directly wired to the switch. I replaced the switch, and put the lights, ignition, etc... through relays last year.

The PIAA lights come complete with their own harness, fuses and relays and power/low/high switch. The draw more current than regular DOT lights from what I've been told, but I haven't seen that (nor looked for it) in writing.

Looks good. Fenders from Coveland?? Dibs on takeoffs for Put-Put.

They're on hold for ya. I'll have to take pics of their problem areas, but that won't be for another few days.

I have to get these things mounted before Tuesday. I'm autocrossing, and they're calling for rain :(. If it's light rain, I'll take her, but even in light rain, there'd be too much spray with no fenders.
