Mandurath Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Ok, educate me. Its a 1974 Caterham. Didn't Lotus stop making the 7 in 1975 (Series 4). So Caterham bought the rights, and started making the series 3 while Lotus was still making its series 4?
11Budlite Posted July 6, 2008 Author Posted July 6, 2008 I think the historical account of the change from Lotus to Caterham in the ad is pretty accurate. Lotus stopped making the Series 4 at the end of 1972 as a 1973 model. Caterham originally made the Series 4 version for a total of 38 examples before reverting to the Series 3 sometime in 1974. This car is one of the original 25 Caterham Series 3's, as long as the chassis number checks out... Bruce :7drive:
Mandurath Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Gracias. It was hard to read the print on my laptop, so thanks for clearing it up.
