what's the power and torque specs? Doesn't look like he's pushing it that hard... but the competition doesn't look all that stiff either.

Dunno ... but I asked him to send me some figures!

God that car is awesome:

. the Huge Busa

. the paddles

. the data logger (did you know that he did this run on Jan. 23, 2006???)

Can they use a slipper clutch in these bike engined cars?... seems if you had that and quickshift kit that allows you to shift at full throttle you'd pretty much only use the clutch for token downshifts and taking off.:yesnod:

Wow! I love that car. Although I'm not going the larger displacement route I will be paddle shifting and possibly turbocharging shortly after that.

Is the verdict out on paddle shifting yet? Is the Megabusa too heavy for clutchless shifting? Will it shorten the lifespan of the gearbox? I'm leaning towards the Pro-Shift kit.

I wrote the guys at super7cars.com to see what they thought of the turbocharging idea.

They said that they tried it on a few cars but weren't crazy about the handling as well as the "burnt" pistons.

The upgrade to paddles looks like a kool upgrade though.

Looks like an open track day on the 'indy' (short) circuit. They have pretty strict rules about when and where you can overtake, which is why he is holding back in traffic. I did a day there years ago (1997 I think) on the full GP circuit, which is awesome, the drop off at the end of the main straight going into Paddock Hill then up to the hairpin at Druids is one of the great complexes IMHO.

Here I am going into Druids - took me three laps to get by that darned Elan!

Looks like there is going to be a new engine option coming up in the next year. The new 09 Yamaha VMax V4 it rated at 210hp and 123 ft/lb of torque. With that kind of power in a 400lb bike people will be wrecking them like crazy. Be prepared to pay though. The bikes are 18k and the first 2500 have already been sold.

I love the sound of that! 1679cc ... 210hp ... and what a beautiful Sound!

Any idea of the gearbox? ... Is it still going to be using the 5 speed?
