BusaNostra Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Remember this car? Zero-1 by an excellent builder Mitsuoka. Ugly like Florida GAR fish. But ahead in it's time -- 1.8 Mazda engine - Japanese dependable wiring - Hey, airbag equip..where do you find that?
pksurveyor Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Based on what little Japanese I can read from the posting , the Zero 1 production ended at July, 2000.
scannon Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 That car looked like it was about 3/4 size of a regular Seven when the second, American sized driver got into his car. Neither one sounded like any 1.8 Mazda engine I've ever heard. Sounded more like a two stroke or maybe even a Wankel. There was another video of the unveiling of a car that looked like the design was based on an XK120. Much easier on the eyes than their Seven.
Sean Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 That is not a Mitsuoka Zero-1. The Zero-1 looks like this: http://www.mitsuoka-motor.com/lineup/zero1_1800/index.html. My brother-in-law had one back in the 1990s. Whatever they are, they look like fun.
BusaNostra Posted February 1, 2009 Author Posted February 1, 2009 Here is another Zero 1 made in England http://www.kitpartsdirect.com/page40.htm
TheDingo8MyBaby Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 That's actually the Microcar K-3. I believe only about 100 were made and it's powered by a 50cc motor in the back. http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&tt=url&intl=1&fr=bf-home&trurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.takerusoftware.no-ip.com%2Fmicrocar%2Fk-3%2Fk-3.htm&lp=ja_en&btnTrUrl=Translate or http://www.takerusoftware.no-ip.com/microcar/k-3/k-3.htm if you can read japanese.
scannon Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 That's actually the Microcar K-3. I believe only about 100 were made and it's powered by a 50cc motor in the back. That accounts for the strange motor sounds in the video. I wonder why they made it LHD for what was likely a Japan only car? Skip
