slngsht Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 can anyone tell me the ballpark for gallons per hour of track time? or MPG at the track and I can take it from there? Is it more like 10 MPG or 5 MPG?
yellowss7 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I went thru the same calcuations for my track day at Barber, but a 1.8L 4 banger may get a slightly different result than your 5.7L 8. I think it also depends on how long you keep the loud pedal down. If I remember Jefferson Circuit correctly, it's a tight little course with only a couple straights. As for my Barber experience. I used about 3/4 tank, so around 6-7 gallons for 5, 15 minute sessions. Tom

I was a little worried about that.
Silk Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 With a '96 Miata at Beaver Run, we were getting about 9 mpg. The typical highway milage is 26. Of course with an LS1, maybe you should be thinking gallons per minute?

Heh, the only time i measured my fuel economy, I got 26 MPG. problem with the LS1 is it can burn alot more when the go pedal goes down.
Kitcat Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 10 mpg in Crossflow 9 mpg in Miata. 4.5 MPG in Evo. 12 MPG in 4 cyl Accord. Waiting to see what 414 hp M3 does at upcoming track day-I am expecting 4-5 mpg.
