lancylad Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Okay people, I am 60 years of age, note I did not say OLD..and I have to get my Seven while I can still get in, and more to the point, out of one. I live in Canada so it needs to be 15 years or older to be able to import it with the least hassle. Please let me know if there are any good ones out there. Thanks. Steve.
MHKflyer52 Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 How about one that is titled as a 1963 Lotus 7 in the state of California with BMC running gear or does it have to be a Caterham chassis.
lancylad Posted October 2, 2009 Author Posted October 2, 2009 Would prefer the Caterham chassis, is your machine a Locost build. Steve
MHKflyer52 Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Would prefer the Caterham chassis, is your machine a Locost build. Steve Hi Steve, No it is a scratch build. I would guess you could call it a Locost build but the dimensions were taken from a S2. Closest frame layout to my car would be a CMC frame but it is not one as I built my frame myself. Here is a link to some photos of the process. http://picasaweb.google.com/MHKflyer52/ALotus7Replica# Send me a PM if you have more questions. Enjoy.

Donnie Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Steve I have a '92 Caterham which I was planning to offer for sale next Spring but would consider selling now if a buyer presented him(her)self. It is a BRG Classic with De Dion rear and LSD. Engine is 1700 Super Sprint with DCOE's. and Kent 244 cam. It has approx. 4000 miles on a complete mechanical rebuild by Chip Bond of GT Classics in Va., a Caterham dealer. All receipts are available. I can furnish more complete specifications if you are interested. Car is in Eastern Tennessee and I am asking $24,500. Don
lancylad Posted October 6, 2009 Author Posted October 6, 2009 Hi Don Unfortunately the Canadain import rules say that I can only bring in a seven that is 15 years old or older. They just hate us boys having fun..... Thanks anyway. Steve
lancylad Posted October 6, 2009 Author Posted October 6, 2009 Hi don Must be losing it, yours is a 92, DUH ! How about some pics. Thanks . Steve
Z3 Stalker Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I know of a 3.4L V6 Stalker (bright red, all GM running gear) in Vancouver for sale if you are interested.
Donnie Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Steve Don't have any detail shots. I'll put a few together tomorrow and forward. In the meantime, here's one I do have. Don
Kitcat Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Steve: I bought my '97 Caterham with identical specs to Donnie's car, above, just after I turned age 60 and haven't stopped having fun. The car is fast, agile, has a glorious sound (unmatched by other engines, -IMHO:)) and is at least semi-practical for daily use. It aquits itself well at the track and you will attract a crowd where ever you go. It doesn't have the ultimate power of the newer cars but that seems to be important only in rare situations. Mike
lancylad Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 Hi Mike, never to late to have fun.. still working on jumping thru import hoops. Will get my Seven one way or the other. Winter now so I have to cool my heels, come spring, I WILL be in my seven. Steve
Donnie Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 BTW My Seven was a 62nd birthday present to myself. Don
