slngsht
are they any good? When I first got my Rotus, the wiper assembly it had was a joke. I could've stood up in the car while driving and cleaned the windshield faster. Now that I have a hood and windshield again - yes, hard to believe - I'm looking into a wiper system. There is one for sale in the parts section. Do the wipers move around like a normal modern car in the slow setting? And... obligatory car pic with windshield and hood
MHKflyer52
Hi Mazda, Car looks good with the hood and windshield. You might want to purchase a wiper motor from Moss Motors for an MG Midget or MGB and then the wipers and arems and drive cable for that system and adjust the cable to fit your car. Very simple system and works well has two speeds and can be worked by a two position switch. Hope this helps.
scannon
The two speed wipers in my Caterham work well, slow and slower. They have worked every time I tried them. They haven't had much use and no smoke has leaked out of the wiring. I think I've been out in the rain 2 or 3 times in 3 years.

kennyrayandersen
Since I FULLY plan on NEVER driving in the rain, and if it DOES happen I’m not sure them wipers, any of them really, would work for a TX-sized downpour anyway – which would be the only kind of rain you’d get caught in if you’re paying much attention to the weather (IMO). I would be more worries about my personal buoyancy in a tub full of water (everythings bigger in TX – even the rain! Can’t the ‘manual’ wiper I saw at one of the sites posted suffice. Does the wiper HAVE to be electronic at all? I digress a bit, but with a nearly vertical windshield it would seem that a judicious application of Rain-X would be better than a wiper anyway. dannykao
Hi Mazda, I probably won't need my wipers or heaters. Tell me what's fair and they are yours...
slngsht
Hey Danny, I already committed to buy another member's wiper motor assembly, but I'm still in need of wiper arms. BTW, are you going to Summit this weekend?
d15b7
hey slngsht! i'm almost ready to load the Super Seven into my trailer; i've been slaving over it every night for a while now! only a few odds and ends to tidy up, and then it'll be race time! the weather looks perfect; low 50s and almost no chance of rain -- this fresh xflow motor is singing now, and i am sure its going to really like the cool weather! i'm driving to Piscataway today to pick up another set of tires, and i'll have them mounted on my minlites tomorrow... i've got your wiper assy stowed in the truck, and can meet you at summit anytime this weekend; my rig is a black 2003 chevy 2500hd, pulling a dirty white Pace enclosed trailer. my Seven is bright red; it'll be number 71, or 17, depending. come find me in the paddock and we can hang out! todd ReidSpeed

slngsht
k, I have the wiper assembly in my hand. Can anyone tell me if any other wiper arms fit on it besides Caterham? Also, if you have a pic of how the motor is mounted in a caterham installation, that'd be great.
007 FSR
Especially on the track at speed I find a product called (In Australia) RAINEX works very well ~ also put some on both sides of wind screen and my visor.:cooldude:
gjslutz
Mazda, one word RAIN-X, problem solved! Try it you will love it.
drew...
Mazda - operate the wiper motor before you close up the scuttle over it. The motor can be set for right hand drive (the stop position is up). If it does stop in the up position it is a simple change to the gear mechanism to change it over. Not so simple if it is all put back together, (learned the hard way).
d15b7
hi! i sold him the wiper assy; it is clearly marked in paint on the assy 'LH'; and it came off my left hand drive car, so it should be ready to go! todd ReidSpeed PS and rainex is great; i use it to on all my racecars; problem arises if you are going slow (under 30 mph) and its raining lightly....
