Greg350 Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 [/url] these RC cars are on sale in the UK at Marks and Spencers for 19.00 pounds if anyone happens to be in the area.
Taber10 Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 It must be either my computer, or my eyes, but it looks like "THE Stig" lost that round. Can't be! But as the video says, "more to come" so I'll keep watching!
slomove Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Us SoCal Seveners had a group buy of the RC models. Tomorrow we will have our first living room AutoX. Better than a real one, given the rain here.
Greg350 Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 U can buy these in the USA? Are they left hand drive and smog exempt?
slngsht Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Us SoCal Seveners had a group buy of the RC models. Tomorrow we will have our first living room AutoX. Better than a real one, given the rain here. Did you guys buy these ones, or just another RC car? I wonder how the steering mechanism is... cheapy like a Radio Shack toy, or actual Servo. I gotta start looking into a 16:1 LS1.
MoPho Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I ordered them from the UK and had the whole lot shipped here. Haven't opened them yet, today is the SoCal Caterham club Xmas pizza party and RC auto-x, but suspect it is more Radio Shack than servo for the $30 they cost http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2555/4156406144_864273c693_o.jpg .
Greg350 Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 Well be careful on the roads, I notice that the drivers are not wearing seat belts.
MoPho Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Well be careful on the roads, I notice that the drivers are not wearing seat belts. Some say that he is not affected by the laws of physics, and that is ass is made of velcro.... All we know is he is called the Stig
Greg350 Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 I assume this is the site (it was linked to M & S via Top Gear UK). I see the price per item is now at 15.00 pounds with a shipping charge to USA of 10.00 pounds , is the shipping cost per item or per order) ? http://www.marksandspencer.com/Top-Gear-Caterham-Remote-Control/dp/B002MLBL4Y?ie=UTF8&qid=1260730552&categoryNodeID=&ref=sr_1_4&page=&node=42966030&sr=1-4&mnSBrand=core&rh=
Greg350 Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 Cheers Mopho, let us know how they perform, if you get 2 are they on dif channels?
lancylad Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Hi guys Me and the wife just got two of these, you got to let the supplier know you need a different channel on each. We didnt and now cant race each other. Still a lot of laughs tho. Steve
scannon Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Maybe we should do a group buy and have a race at every Se7ens gathering. I wonder how many channels are available.
lancylad Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Only two, gotta be some way around that one.. we Canucks are looking foward to getting south of the border next year. If you will have us?
slngsht Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 lol. onboard camera was great. So... who was the Ace?
slomove Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Magnus F. He beat everybody being twice as fast or more. I bet he practiced before or maybe he is a video game addict ;-)
scannon Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 What a riot! Now I'm going to have to get a couple of those.
Boxologist Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 what was the starting handcap, looked like the Stig's liver was made of steel. Seems like a hysterical way to pass an afternoon. actually looked quite similar to any of the local PCA autoXs
Greg350 Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 (edited) Anybody put one on the scales yet? I know its just a matter of time till some one on here starts to make it lighter weight and adding more power. Be fun to take one to the DMV when you plan to register a 7 then "park" it in the lot to see if anyone there really does have a sense of humour(which I have yet to find); after you have told them : " yes, named after the Lotus 7, it is a well know car built in the UK, but very small"........
